The ladies from R.I.S.E. and myself have decided to start a "GSD" club- Get Stuff Done! It's a dedicated time to just show up and work on things you've been putting off- budgets, application forms, going through subscriptions, literally anything. We all agree that dedicated time can help check things off your list, and why not do it with company! I've been hosting a group of women (who named themselves RISE- Real Investment, Smart Empowerment) every month to learn about investing, finances and estate planning. These women are some of the most intelligent I've ever met. What I've discovered through meaningful discussion is that all of them had the ability to manage their finances, they just didn't know how. We've shared moments of discovery, some major successes and milestones, and after 8 months, each one of them is leaving better off than when they started. We're wrapping up next month for the summer, but I will be starting a new chapter of RISE in the fall. A colleague of mine just shared this information for a new non-profit that I think is very important. This is not an endorsement, as I have not met Christianne, but I wanted to put it out there in case there is a need.
Christianne Murphy, a practicing estate lawyer with Underwood Gilholme, has recently launched a nonprofit organization called Willow Tree Testaments. Its mission is to provide free educational sessions on estate planning and related legal topics for people who cannot otherwise afford legal counsel.

These sessions cover:
• Wills
• Enduring Powers of Attorney
• Personal Directives
• Estate administration and probate basics
• Applications under the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act

This work is particularly relevant for people living with disabilities and their families, as many are unaware of the challenges that can arise if legal documents are not in place.

The first free session is taking place on May 7, and Christianne is currently working to ensure it reaches individuals and communities who would benefit most.
