Nobody wakes up one morning needing a root canal.
One day, you notice a little twinge when you drink a glass of ice water. Enough to catch your attention, but easy to ignore.
The next time it happens, you decide your tooth is now sensitive to cold, so you avoid cold things. Easy.
That strategy works for months.
Until the twinge turns into a dull ache when you chew on that side of your mouth. You tell yourself you’ll book a dentist appointment when things quiet down. You’re not in any real pain, so it doesn’t feel urgent. Besides, you have a full set of teeth and can chew on the other side.
Problem solved.
Except underneath, the problem is actually just getting worse.
Eventually, the dull ache becomes a constant, searing pain. Now you don’t have a choice but to call the dentist.
They tell you you need a root canal. But if you’d gone in sooner, it would have been a simple filling.
Living in denial doesn’t make problems go away. But it does give small annoyances time to grow into really painful, expensive ones. time to grow into a really painful, expensive ones.
The moral of this story (or should I say molar?) is this:
If you’re a Canadian entrepreneur hoping your tax situation will sort itself out, this is your reminder that dealing with it early is almost always easier… and far less painful… than you think.
Nobody wants a root canal if they can help it.
