Sarah Watters brings a thoughtful, organized, and people-focused approach to her role with Baker & Associates. With a background in financial services, client service, and operations, Sarah understands that meaningful client relationships are built through trust, clear communication, and genuine care.

She is dedicated to creating a welcoming experience where clients feel heard, supported, and confident in the people they have entrusted to support them. Sarah enjoys bringing clarity to complexity, solving problems, and finding thoughtful ways to help people navigate what matters to them. She values collaboration and believes that the details matter, not only in the work itself, but in how people feel throughout the process. Her approach is grounded in curiosity, kindness, and a commitment to following through.
Community is an important part of how Sarah approaches both her work and her life. She believes strong communities are built through connection, participation, and a willingness to contribute. A longtime British Columbia resident, Sarah is happy to call Vancouver Island home.

Outside of work, she is a poet and writer who finds inspiration in the coast, forests, and people around her. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, creative pursuits, and spending time with her dog, Beau.

One of the greatest gifts of this season is the kindness and thoughtfulness of the people around us.

Wonderful clients surprised us with fresh loaves of homemade sourdough bread, baked by hand and made with love. Gestures like these remind us how grateful we are for the relationships we've built and the incredible people we're fortunate to work with.

This Thanksgiving, we're thankful for the trust, friendships, and sense of community that make what we do so meaningful.

Mandy and Kathy recently joined colleagues and the IG Investments Team in Vancouver for the Canada-wide Portfolio Manager Roadshow.

The event focused on the value of active portfolio management and provided valuable insights from leading portfolio managers and investment professionals from across the country. As part of our commitment to ongoing education and professional development, we continue to seek opportunities that enhance our knowledge and expertise. The strategies, perspectives, and market insights shared during the roadshow will help us better support our clients through informed decision-making and thoughtful portfolio management.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and bring these valuable insights back to our practice.

A heartfelt thank you to Rosemary Lane & Co for helping us recognize and celebrate two outstanding Powell River businesses and their hardworking teams. We even had a few VIP visitors stop by to join in the fun. The food was exceptional, and Jo-Al's famous cookies were a huge hit. We are grateful to support local and work alongside such amazing people and businesses.

To close out our Summer Highlights, Gavin's summer has been a great one for making memories. He's spent his time enjoying the outdoors between climbing, fishing, and camping all while working and continuing his education.

This fall Gavin plans to continue studying while hard at work here in the Courtenay office.

As we celebrate Labour Day, it's amazing to reflect on how much work, wages, and opportunities have evolved over the last century. For more than 100 years, IG has had the privilege of helping hardworking Canadians turn paycheques into plans, dreams into goals, and goals into financial security.

Whether you were delivering newspapers, scooping ice cream, working on a farm, or stocking shelves, every first job teaches lessons that stay with us for life.
