1. Mindset Shift. A big mistake is trying to force or demand new habits or actions. "Let's start investing now" or "Let's stop eating out/ordering in" might not be received well. The best way to change the people around you is to change yourself first.

2. Talk It Out
Sitting down to discuss goals and values sounds simple, yet few people do this. Take action. Schedule a time with your partner to talk about the future, your goals, and how you can work together as a team to achieve them.

3. Remain Emotionless
Emotions and money NEVER mix. Financial issues are tied to all kinds of emotional problems stemming from childhood. Our upbringing shapes our values and goals. When you discuss financial goals or values, you're discussing your partner's family, childhood, and upbringing.
Do not criticize. Do not insult. Do not blame.

4. Create Shared Goals
There's no better way to get on the same page as your partner as sitting down and creating goals you both agree on.

Death and taxes are certain. But what happens to credit card debt after death can be downright confusing.

The quick and simple answer: no
You also won’t pass on credit card debt owed solely in your name to loved ones after your own death.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀?

If the credit card account in question was opened together with someone else as a co-borrower (or co-signer), then the co-borrower is equally responsible for making payments and can inherit credit card debt if the other dies.
Emphasis on the word co-borrower here.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵?
When someone dies, all the assets and belongings tied to their name will become part of what’s called an estate. Any debts owed to creditors will be paid back from this estate.

Only after debts are paid off by the estate will the remaining assets be distributed to beneficiaries according to the deceased’s will (or based on provincial intestate laws, if no will was signed).
