Some Friday nights are simply good for the soul.

This past Friday, I joined friends for the Adult Roadtrip to the KOZ in support of the Karma Foundation, and what a fantastic evening it was.

The weather held out beautifully, the atmosphere was electric, and the music was incredible. The Hip Replacements absolutely delivered, keeping the crowd singing, dancing, and reliving some of Canada's greatest hits throughout the night.

What makes events like this so special, though, isn't just the music or the venue. It's the opportunity to come together as a community, reconnect with friends, meet new people, and support a cause that makes a meaningful difference.

Every ticket purchased, every sponsor involved, and every person who showed up helped raise additional funds for the Karma Foundation and the important work they continue to do.

A huge thank you to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who attended. It was a wonderful reminder that when great people gather around a great cause, amazing things happen.

Already looking forward to next year.

Last year, I met with a business owner who had spent more than twenty years building a successful company.

Revenue was growing.
The team was strong.
The family was doing well.

From the outside, everything looked exactly as it should.

But as our conversation unfolded, a different story emerged.
She had a corporation, investments, insurance, a lawyer, an accountant, and a banker.

What she didn't have was clarity.

Should she be paying down debt or investing?

Should she be preparing for a future sale?

Should she be involving her children in conversations about wealth?

Was she on track to achieve financial independence?

Were all of her advisors even working toward the same outcome?

Finally, she stopped and said:

"Tara, I don't think I need another strategy. I need a starting point."

That conversation stayed with me.

Because I hear versions of it all the time.

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at the 25th Edition Women in Leadership Conference in Edmonton - hosted by FCI-CWI - Career Women Interaction.

Surrounded by so many incredible women leaders, the energy in the room was something special — a reminder of what’s possible when we come together to learn, share, and grow.

I spoke about adaptive leadership — and more importantly, what it really looks like in practice.

Because the reality is…
most challenges we face today aren’t due to a lack of expertise.
They’re happening because we’re trying to solve complex problems alone.

One of the most powerful shifts we can make as leaders is this:
➡️ Moving from being the expert… to being the one who builds the room.

The leader who asks:
Who else needs to be here?
What perspective are we missing?

Because some of the most meaningful breakthroughs don’t come from doing more —
they come from expanding how we lead.
