There are 4 key things that Canadian citizens should report and claim on their taxes:

📑 Get your tax slips – Understand your tax slips such as the T4 and T4A, when you will receive them, and how to get copies
💸 Report your income – self-employment income, foreign investment income, income from assets, or other earnings.
🚙 Claim deductions, credits, and expenses – Find and claim tax deductions and credits, and get information on tax instalments and expenses.

Don’t forget to claim the following types of dues on your tax return:

👉🏼 Yearly union dues when you’re a member of a trade union or association of public servants.
👉🏼 Dues paid to a professional board as required by provincial or territorial law.
👉🏼 Premiums paid for insurance for professional or malpractice liability coverage.
👉🏼 Dues for keeping a legal professional status in the eyes of the law.
👉🏼 Dues paid toward parity of advisory committees as required by provincial or territorial law.
