National Indigenous History Month 🧑

This month provides an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the histories, cultures, achievements, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

We are honoured to partner with First Nation communities throughout Northern Ontario to provide financial wellness services and support. Through outreach clinics, tax filing services, benefits assistance, identification support, and financial counselling, we strive to help individuals and families access the programs, services, and resources available to them.

We are grateful to the communities that continue to welcome us and work alongside us to support financial well-being, build trust, and strengthen communities.

This month, we encourage everyone to take time to learn more about Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives, and to recognize the resilience, strength, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and MΓ©tis Peoples.

The overnight interest rate remains at 2.25%.

Rates are holding steady, but they are still higher than a few years ago. This is a strong time to review your budget and take control of your money.

Here is where to focus:

β€’ Move savings into higher interest options
β€’ Pay down high interest debt first
β€’ Adjust your monthly budget
β€’ Build or strengthen your emergency fund

You do not have to figure this out alone. Our team at SCSC is here to help you build a plan that fits your situation. 🀝
