Nathan Groat, CPA, CA

Padgett is delighted to showcase our newest addition to the group with the introduction of Nathan Groat, CPA, CA. As a professional with proven abilities managing strategic planning and complex financial projects, Nathan is able to identify areas where a client can reach maximum gains and control costs with the effective use of available resources for a business of any size. He knows how to help other businesses grow and increase revenues to enhance profit performance at all growth levels related to the organization’s mission and goals.

Nathan is a graduate of the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management Degree in Advanced accounting, and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and Alberta (CPA, CA). He worked most recently at Fluid Life, as the Vice President of Finance and Accounting (2012-2018), and prior to that at the VDM Trucking Service as Chief Financial Officer (2009-2012). He also served as the Financial Analyst at Civeo (PTI) (2007-2009), and began his career with Kingston Ross Pasnak (KRP LLP) as an Audit Senior (2004-2007).

As a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and Alberta, Nathan has experience working in the public and private sectors to competitively architect new problem-solving techniques and tools to initiate creative business development solutions at a high-calibre level, including both long and short-term business goals for the organization. Nathan is a seasoned accounting and financial professional with and effective strategies to track and manage costs, allowing businesses of all size to become champions of expansion into new market areas, and encouraging organizations to dominate their chosen industries as industry leaders. In the recent past, Nathan has orchestrated programs to push significant growth in two privately-held companies, which were shown to prosper despite challenging economic conditions and adversities in their respective regions.

Nathan’s accomplishments include leading the implementation of a new ERP system to streamline operational processes at an organization, and crafting internal and external financial reporting at both Fluid Life and VDM that simplified and standardized accurate corporate reporting results. He worked as a key negotiator and transition planner of a large complex corporate move, participated in strategies to assist Fluid Life to earn the designation of a Deloitte best managed company in 2017, and made well-informed decisions to help Fluid Life to achieve financial growth per year despite downturned economic factors affecting the oil and gas industry.
