𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀 𝐊𝟏𝟐 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐘 🌟

As part of my farewell, my friends gave me the most thoughtful gift, a little jar filled with handwritten notes, each capturing a memorable event we experienced together. They told me to open one or two whenever I started missing them.
Well, I came across one few days ago that cracked me up so much I just had to share it for .

Let’s travel back to 2015.

I decided it was time to be a "serious adult" and start saving money. I walked into one of the banks, and they pitched me their savings account. They quoted an interest rate that sounded completely reasonable at the time. Feeling accomplished, I deposited a 10pin (K10,000) and locked it away for 3 months.

Fast forward to maturity day. I went to check my returns, expecting a nice little reward for my discipline.

The total interest earned? K12.

Twelve Kwacha after three months. 🤦🏻‍♀️😀😀

I was absolutely furious! I immediately withdrew my money and closed the account right there and then. But looking back, that K12 heartbreak was the ultimate blessing in disguise. It was the absolute Genesis of my journey into researching and understanding capital market products. That fiasco led me to take my money out of traditional savings and start investing in Unit Trusts.

But the learning curve didn't stop there.

By 2017, the era of Ponzi schemes erupted. Like many others looking for better growth, we fell right into the trap of Mineral.pay, FX Trading, and the like. When those tuma websites suddenly became "inaccessible," the reality hit. We lost money, and it hurt. (Honestly, those scammers won’t see heaven, huh? 😂)

But we paid the heavy price of starting. That setback made me vow to stick strictly to regulated options. I dug deep into researching government securities and began intentionally building robust portfolios in the capital markets.

On this journey, we all have stories we can look back on and laugh at. The important thing is that we didn't let the setbacks define us. We learned, we pivoted, and we grew.
