Most families who qualify for an RDSP never open one. Not because they don't care. Because nobody told them.

The government will literally deposit money into this account, no contribution required in some cases; yet 7 in 10 eligible Canadians are leaving it untouched.

If you or someone in your family has a Disability Tax Credit, this is the conversation that needs to happen before anything else.

Here’s what working with me looks like for those looking for a personal or corporate strategy 🤝

Although I often also get calls for very immediate needs too - needing a good term life insurance policy because a home was purchased, a mortgage changes or needing to transfer a pension with change in employment.

Let’s book a discovery call 💻

One thing I tell every client: the rules don't change based on your income. The playbook does.

Whether you're pulling $80K or $800K of income from an employer or your own corporation, you still need:

1. The right accounts
2. Protection that makes sense
3. A plan you actually review
4. Consistent action over time

Swipe through ➡️because this one's for everyone.

I answer my phone. Wild concept, I know. 📲

In an industry where people feel like they are talking to a voicemail, I really enjoy real conversations ☕️

The more I get to know you the easier it is for me to address what you need. The math has to work but it means nothing if its not aligned to what you want and need.

Life changes super fast, in the past 6 years I have sold a property, had 2 kids, new firm, new house, new business and had a critical illness diagnosed in the family. My financial needs have evolved just like yours.

I'm one call away, always.

Most incorporated business owners I meet have the same gap:

Their 📚 accountant handles the tax side. Their advisor 📈handles personal investing. Nobody is connecting the two inside the corporation. 🤝

That gap is expensive. It gets more expensive when there is no coordination between your corporate and personal expenses.

A well-structured corporation can:
→ Fund insurance with cheaper, pre-tax corporate dollars
→ Grow retained earnings in a tax-advantaged environment
→ Create a tax efficient pipeline from your business to your estate

This is not about exotic strategies. It's about making sure your corporate structure is actually working for you, not just sheltering income.

I work with business owners to build that coordination; insurance and investing inside the corp, aligned with what your 📚accountant is already doing.

Want to see what this looks like for your situation? Let's connect and maybe bring your 📚accountant a long for the conversation!

Calling all Accountants & Lawyers 📞

When your clients are making major financial decisions, the insurance and investing layer matters. I work alongside your advice, not around it.

Referrals are mutual, and I respect the relationship you've built with your clients. Let's connect over coffee.

The TFSA is one of the most under-utilized tools in Canada.

Tax-free growth (I personally hold assets with strong appreciation for part of it as a retirement strategy 💁‍♀️ cause no future tax liability)

BUT most people are treating this like a savings account and that’s the mistake.

Tax-free withdrawals.

No impact on your future tax brackets.

If your TFSA so far has been sitting in cash,it is time we aligned this to your plan.

It’s not about opening one - it’s about structuring it properly.

Nova Scotia Lowers Down Payment for First-Time Homebuyers 🏡

The Province of Nova Scotia has introduced a new First-Time Homebuyers Program, reducing the minimum down payment from 5% to 2%. This initiative makes homeownership more accessible for eligible buyers while maintaining financial safeguards.

Key Details:

➡️ Eligible for first-time buyers with household income up to $200,000.
➡️ Minimum credit score of 630 and must pass mortgage stress test.
➡️ Program applies to homes up to $570,000 in Halifax Regional Municipality & East Hants, and $500,000 elsewhere in NS.
➡️ Delivered through participating credit unions, with provincial mortgage guarantee.
➡️ Buyers do not have to obtain separate mortgage insurance (such as CMHC, Genworth/Sagen insurance) instead the Province provides a government guarantee on the mortgage which acts in place of traditional mortgage insurance at no additional cost to the homebuyer.

The First-time Homebuyers Program was created to make Nova Scotians' first home more affordable and to help Nova Scotians achieve homeownership faster.

As the RRSP deadline approaches in early March, this is a useful reminder to review whether an RRSP contribution makes sense for you this year.

A few considerations that may be helpful:
• Do you have unused RRSP contribution room?
• How does an RRSP fit with your current income and tax situation?
• Are you using RRSPs primarily for tax deferral today or for future income planning?

RRSPs are most effective when they are part of a broader, coordinated financial plan rather than a last-minute decision based solely on tax season.

If you are feeling uncertain, a brief review or conversation can often provide clarity and direction.

Wishing everyone a smooth tax season, may your receipts be organized and your CRA login finally work.
