1. Keep perspective–downturns are normal and normally short lived

2. Be comfortable with your investments.

3. Do not try to time the market.

4. Invest regularly, despite volatility.

Coronavirus on your mind? Despite fears, it’s important to keep in mind that with these events, news sites love to spur fear as it gets their websites more traffic. When looking at the data on how similar events have impacted markets, we can see that keeping a long term focus has been a good one.

We encourage our clients to test drive their pending retirement before they take the final plunge into their new lifestyle. After all, it really is the only way to know for sure what retirement may look like! Not only do we want to test drive the potential retirement income(s), we also want to test drive your time or at least put some thought into what retirement may look like. You will now have 365 Saturdays in a year and what are you going to do with all your spare time? We have some tools to help you implement your test drive, just ask! Test driving your time is NOT something you just do once and forget about it. You will re-invent your self in retirement so your passions and needs will change and so will your spare time. I take a lot of my inspiration from clients; like Doug & Dianne or John & Carol. Both are hikers extraordinaire and I cherish our annual reviews with them for the selfish reason of hearing about their adventures! It has motivated Julie & I to explore our own, somewhat more tame, hiking experience. Here are a few shots of hiking in Capitol Reef, Utah. Be inspired!
