Update on BC PST Expansion and CFIB Petition:

ATI is providing an update on recent Provincial Sales Tax (PST) changes announced in British Columbia.

Effective October 1, 2026, a 7% PST is scheduled to apply to certain professional services, including:

• Accounting and bookkeeping,
• Architectural services,
• Engineering and geoscience services,
• Rental property and strata management services,
• Commissions on non-residential real estate transactions, and
• Security and private investigation services.

In response, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) has launched a petition requesting reconsideration of this measure, citing potential cost implications for affected businesses.
