Did you receive a tax instalment notice from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recently?

This is the time of the year when the CRA distributes these notices, which are arriving either through physical mail or increasingly via your CRA My Account digital mail.

It is important to know that while these notices are framed as “reminders” for taxpayers to pay instalments for 2026 taxes—meaning the CRA will not take immediate collection action—they should not be ignored. Instalment amounts are set based upon prior year taxes owed, and if you choose to not pay the instalments as per the CRA notice, you will likely be charged instalment interest upon the filing of your next tax return if you indeed owe tax.

We were motivated to work hard for you before, but this only makes us feel that responsibility more deeply.
