Different Strengths. Shared Purpose. A Community Rebuilding Together.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that no one organization or person can do everything but together, we can do incredible things.
When the Dress for Success Kelowna board reached out with compassion for families affected by the Bald Range and Bradley Creek fires, the path forward was clear. Dress for Success would provide professional attire for evacuees who had lost access to their work clothing, while our board volunteered alongside Mamas for Mamas as they do what they do best. Fill the gaps for families left behind by unimaginable loss.
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon volunteering at Mamas for Mamas, where donations from our generous community continue to pour in. I was humbled to meet a family whose home had burned to the ground. Beyond the irreplaceable memories and treasured keepsakes, they had lost every day-to-day item that makes a house a home.
In that moment, I was reminded of the power of collaboration. Different organizations. Different strengths. One shared purpose.
Thank you to Mamas for Mamas, Dress for Success Kelowna, the countless volunteers, donors, and to Benewealth | Wealth Management + Benefits | Kelowna, BC for supporting time away from the office to serve. Benewealth stands beside the families affected by these fires and remains deeply rooted in giving back to the community where we live, work, and raise our families.
This is what community looks like. ❤️
