🎉 GOOD NEWS

The B.C. government has announced that it is pausing the planned expansion of PST to professional services, which was scheduled to take effect on October 1, 2026.

For now, accounting, tax and bookkeeping services remain PST-exempt in B.C. The Province says the decision is in response to ongoing international trade disruptions and economic uncertainty.

For taxpayers and small businesses, this means one less cost to worry about right now and a little more breathing room while navigating the current economic environment.

I’ll keep an eye on any further changes and keep my clients updated!

📢Important Update for B.C. Businesses & Individuals:

Effective October 1, 2026, a 7% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will apply to all professional accounting, tax, and advisory invoices in addition to the existing GST.

The 7% PST is a provincial tax collected and remitted to the B.C. government — it is not an increase in our accounting fee!
