When a life insurance policy is replaced under the claim that it’s “the same coverage—just for way less cost.”

I’ve had clients consider cancelling solid, existing policies because another advisor promised more coverage for less money. What often gets missed? 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Most of the time, this comparison is between a 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 and a 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆—which are not the same.

Of course, the cost is lower.
It’s a completely different type of insurance.

Not every insurance replacement is a good one—and ethical advisors know that. Replacements should never be driven by commissions, quotas, or convenience. They should only happen when the change clearly improves the client’s situation.

Responsible advisors ask:
✅ Has the client’s life actually changed?
✅ Does the new policy offer real advantages—not just a lower premium?
✅ Are surrender charges, lost guarantees, and long term costs fully explained?
✅ Is keeping the current policy the safer or more cost effective option?

If the answer doesn’t truly support the client’s best interest, the right move is often 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹.

Good advisors don’t chase transactions—they protect trust.
Because doing what’s right will always matter more than making a sale.

Yesterday, on Remembrance Day, I took a moment to reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by our veterans. Their courage and dedication have given us something priceless—freedom.

Because of them, I have the privilege to travel across this beautiful country, connect with amazing people, and explore new places while creating unforgettable memories.

My recent trip to St. John’s, Newfoundland reminded me just how lucky we are to experience Canada’s beauty without fear or limitation.
