Pharma Tax

Pharma Tax Tax savings, pharmacy growth, and wealth building. For dentists, pharmacists & physicians. Pharma Tax is now Rx Dental! What would you do with an extra $30,410?

Same team, same expertise, and the same commitment to helping you succeed. We proudly serve pharmacists, dentists, and physicians across Canada. We help healthcare professionals pay less tax, start and grow your clinic or pharmacy, and build long-term wealth. The #1 expense for most healthcare professionals in Canada is tax. With average tax rates hovering around 43%, almost half of what you earn

could be going to the CRA. Yet most accountants or financial advisors don’t take the time to proactively plan for your taxes. When was the last time someone sat down with you to analyze your business and personal finances, to find you the tax savings you deserve? Most accountants are too busy just filing tax returns...

…and most financial advisors only focus on your investments. Worse, many are generalists who don’t understand how pharmacies, dental clinics, or medical practices actually operate. As a result, many healthcare professionals overpay taxes by $9,328 to $30,410 every single year. We’re not just another group of accountants and financial advisors. We are healthcare tax and financial experts, ready to take you—and your practice—to the next level.

The most expensive words in tax planning?

"I'll deal with it later."

The reality is that some of the biggest tax-saving opportunities have deadlines. Waiting too long could mean missing them entirely.

The best tax savings come from planning ahead, not scrambling at tax time.

Who do you turn to for financial advice when everyone seems to have a different answer?

Your banker says one thing.
Your lawyer suggests something else.
Your colleague swears by a strategy that "saved them thousands."
You search online and find ten different answers.

Meanwhile, your accountant files the tax return... and the conversation ends there.
It's no wonder so many healthcare professionals feel stuck.

Should you open a holding company?
Pay yourself a salary or dividends?
Invest personally or through your corporation?
Set up a family trust?
Buy the building?
Sell the practice?

Every decision seems to come with conflicting advice, and without someone connecting the dots, it's hard to know what's actually right for your situation.

The truth is, there usually isn't one "correct" answer.

The best decision depends on your business, your family, your income, your goals, and where you want to be five, ten, or twenty years from now.

That's why a collection of opinions isn't a financial plan.

A strategy is.

At RX Dental Accountants, we specialize exclusively in pharmacists, dentists, and physicians.

We coordinate tax planning with your bigger financial picture so every recommendation works together instead of competing with the next.

The result is a personalized roadmap that gives you confidence to move forward, knowing each decision supports the next.

Our proactive tax planning helps clients save an average of $30,410 in taxes every year, not because we rely on one strategy, but because we build a coordinated plan tailored to their unique situation.

You don't need more opinions.

You need one plan.

What’s changed in your business over the last five years, and has your tax strategy kept up?

• Your business has likely grown.
• Your income may have shifted.
• Maybe you've hired staff, bought equipment, opened another location, or started planning for retirement.

Life moves forward.

Yet for many healthcare professionals, tax season looks the same every year.

Documents go in.
Returns get filed.
A meeting happens.
Then it’s back to business.

But your business doesn’t pause for twelve months at a time.
• New opportunities come up.
• Tax rules change.
• Your goals evolve.

If your accountant only looks backward once a year, they may be missing opportunities to help you move forward.

The best tax planning isn't reactive.
It's ongoing.

It's asking the right questions before major decisions are made.

It's reviewing your corporate structure as your business grows.

It's finding new ways to reduce taxes, build wealth, and keep more of what you've earned.

Most importantly, it's having someone who understands where you're trying to go, not just where you've been.

That's how we work at RX Dental Accountants.

We partner with pharmacists, dentists, and physicians throughout the year to build personalized tax plans, adjust strategies as circumstances change, and help turn financial goals into actionable steps.

The result?

Our clients save an average of $30,410 in taxes every year.

Not because we file better tax returns.

Because we don't wait until tax season to start planning.

Have you heard of the RDSP? It could be one of Canada's most valuable savings plans.

The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is designed to help Canadians with disabilities and their families build long-term financial security.

Unlike many other savings plans, the government may contribute money to the plan through grants and bonds, depending on eligibility and family income.

The lifetime contribution limit is $200,000, and some individuals may qualify for up to $70,000 in Canada Disability Savings Grants and up to $20,000 in Canada Disability Savings Bonds over time.

The challenge?

Many eligible families either don't know the RDSP exists or assume they don't qualify.

If you or a family member is eligible for the Disability Tax Credit, it may be worth exploring whether an RDSP could play an important role in your long-term financial plan.

Sometimes, the biggest financial opportunities are the ones people never knew were available.

"I'm making more money every year... so why does it feel like I'm keeping less of it?"

Many business owners accept higher tax bills as simply the cost of doing well.

But often, that's not the whole story.

The right tax plan isn't about finding last-minute deductions at tax season. It's about putting the right strategies in place well before they're needed.

Recently, we worked with a pharmacy owner and developed a specialized tax plan tailored specifically to their family, business, and long-term goals.

One of the strategies we implemented was a properly structured family trust, allowing for second-generation income splitting.

The result?
$23,010 in tax savings every year.

And that was just one piece of a broader tax plan that uncovered thousands more in annual savings.

The biggest takeaway?

You don't have to know every tax strategy available. That's our job.

Our role is to get to know you, understand your goals, and build a personalized tax plan that helps you keep more of what you've worked so hard to earn.

Have you ever felt like your accountant is just checking a box?

The tax return gets filed.
And then... nothing.

• Maybe you have questions about paying less tax.
• Maybe you're thinking about buying another business, investing more, or preparing for retirement.
• Maybe you simply want to understand your numbers a little better.

But those conversations never seem to happen.

Instead, another year goes by with the feeling that your accountant did exactly what you hired them to do, but nothing more.

Accounting shouldn't feel like an annual transaction.
It should feel like an ongoing partnership.

You deserve someone who takes the time to understand your business, your goals, and where you're trying to go, not just where you've been.

Because the best tax-saving opportunities don't happen after your tax return is filed.

They happen throughout the year, while there's still time to make decisions that actually reduce your taxes.

That's why our team works exclusively with pharmacists, dentists, and physicians year-round.

We build personalized tax plans, help implement them, and adjust them as your goals evolve.

The result?
Our clients save an average of $30,410 in taxes every year.

Not because of one magic strategy.

Because proactive planning is worth far more than reactive filing.

Ever get the feeling that even though everything looks “done,” something important might still be slipping through the cracks?

You leave your accountant’s office with your tax return filed and your financial statements neatly prepared.

But that nagging thought doesn’t go away.

What if I’m paying more tax than I need to?

Am I missing opportunities that other business owners are taking advantage of?

Should I be doing something differently with the cash in my corporation?

The truth is, most healthcare professionals don’t know what they don’t know.

And that uncertainty can quietly cost you year after year.

The problem isn't that their accountant made a mistake.

It's that the conversation never happened.

Many accounting firms are built around compliance.

Their job is to prepare the financial statements, file the tax return, and move on to the next deadline.

If you don't know what questions to ask, it's unlikely those conversations will happen on their own.

But tax planning isn't about answering questions once they're asked.

It's about raising opportunities before you even know they exist.

Imagine working with someone who meets with you throughout the year.

Someone who understands your goals.

Someone who reviews your business as it grows.

Someone who brings ideas to the table instead of waiting for you to ask.

That's the difference between reactive accounting and proactive planning.

At RX Dental Accountants, we specialize exclusively in pharmacists, dentists, and physicians. We don't believe your accountant should simply prepare tax returns.

We believe they should help you make better financial decisions, reduce taxes year after year, build long-term wealth, and create a clear roadmap for the future.

Our proactive tax planning saves clients an average of $30,410 every year because we don't stop once the tax return is filed.

We continue looking for opportunities all year long.

Because peace of mind isn't knowing your taxes were filed.

It's knowing you have a team making sure you're not leaving money on the table.

Did you know that healthcare professionals overpay an average of $8,295 in taxes simply because expenses weren’t tracked properly?

One of the biggest reasons tax deductions get missed isn't complicated tax law.

It's simply poor expense tracking.

Missing receipts.
Personal and business expenses mixed together.
Bookkeeping that falls behind.
Waiting until tax season to organize everything.

By then, opportunities have often already been lost.

Good bookkeeping does more than keep the CRA happy.

It helps you understand where your money is going, identify tax-saving opportunities throughout the year, and make better financial decisions.

The good news?
This is one of the easiest tax problems to fix.

A little organization today can lead to meaningful tax savings tomorrow.

Working with an accountant who understands the healthcare industry helps you stay ahead, not just at tax time, but all year long.

With the right systems in place, you can keep your books organized, maximize eligible deductions, and avoid costly bookkeeping mistakes before they happen.

If you're ready for proactive tax planning and bookkeeping that works for you, send us a message and let's see how we can help.

"What does a holding company actually do for me?"

For many business owners, that's where the confusion starts.

You hear about holding companies from colleagues, friends, lawyers, accountants, and online articles.

You may be told you need one, or you don’t.

And before long, it becomes difficult to know what advice actually applies to your situation.

The reality is that a holding company isn't a magic solution.

But when it's properly structured, maintained, and integrated into an overall tax plan, it can become a powerful tool for protecting wealth, creating flexibility, and reducing taxes over time.

The challenge is that most owners are left trying to figure this out on their own.

That's where specialist guidance matters.

Recently, we worked with a pharmacy owner to review and optimize their corporate structure, including the proper setup and use of a holding company.

The result?
$14,935 in annual tax savings.

Not from taking on more risk.
Not from working more hours.
Simply from implementing the right structure and ensuring it was being used properly.

The best part?

You don't need to become an expert in corporate structures, tax law, or holding companies.

That's our job.

Our role is to explain the options, guide you through the process, and build a plan that's tailored to your goals.

Because the right strategy should make your life simpler, not more complicated.
