Finding the “Y” in Life Insurance
I want to talk you about - Finding the “Y” or “the why” in life insurance. You see, literally, just looking at the words, life insurance, there is no “Y” in the spelling and it’s really true because in life insurance’ definition, it says only that the insurance company or insurer will pay a sum of money upon the death of an insured after a period of time. It is just a source of fund that the beneficiary will receive upon the death of an insured but as to where the money will really go it all depends upon the insured and of course, the beneficiary where the actual money will really go.
You, the buyer or the insured, supply the reason and meaning why you buy the life insurance. And so, this is biggest concern in having a life insurance, if you don’t have the reason in buying it, you must persist to discover it by yourself because as it is, insurance, is a “lonely source of fund” especially with the tag line of “sum of money upon the death of an insured. You don’t like this, right? Do you? You don’t want your death to be a source of funds for someone else, right? But if you put it the other way around something like this: I want to ensure that my children have the basic necessities of life, even if I am not around. Then, life insurance, is for you because even if you are no longer there, there is still money for your children to have the basic necessities of life. Then, life insurance makes sense to you and a tag line of something like this will appeal to you: “death will not stop me to make sum of money, specifically, for my children to have the basic necessities of life. Then, death is no longer something the cause of “fear” why you do not want to buy life insurance but an “inspiration” to do more even if it comes, because it will not stop the money that can go to your children because you have life insurance. You have a noble goal where your money will go. Then, death will not just be a cause why you have the money but just one of those situations that can never hinder to achieve your goal for your children. Good for you and for your children?
But what if it is so hard for you to discover it and even if you have discovered it, it is still hard for you to accept it. Then, our job as insurance agent kicks in. We help people to discover and to accept the reason why they have to buy life insurance. Then, finding “Y” and accepting it becomes bearable because of the assistance of the insurance agent, like us. Reasons for buying insurance depends upon each person, it is something personal and insurance agent can only help as much, it is you who must put in the “Y”or the why in insurance. You need to talk to your loved ones, especially to your wife and children as to what they want to do with their lives and discuss that with your agent so they can properly give the right kind and amount of insurance that you need.
