Canada and the U.S. are heading into this month with trade tensions still front and centre.
The U.S. recently imposed new 50% tariffs on certain Canadian imports, while Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on more than 700 U.S. products beginning September 8 ("Canada announces $20bn retaliatory tariffs as US trade war escalates", Financial Times).
For investors, the bigger question isn't simply “What happens next?”
It's how businesses, supply chains and markets respond to a changing trade environment.
Periods of uncertainty are a good reminder of why diversification and a long-term investment strategy matter.
