Steve Bridge - Money Coach

Steve Bridge - Money Coach I am a financial wellness speaker and advice-only Financial Planner based in Vancouver, BC. All the stuff we were never taught but should have been!

I deliver engaging, practical, and some would say fun presentations on financial well-being. I help workplaces and organizations deliver practical, relatable financial education that employees actually use. No jargon, no sales -just clear, actionable guidance that reduces financial stress and builds confidence.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to present to members and employees from Alberta Municipalities on taxes, RRSPs, TFSAs, and FHSAs, helping people better understand how to make informed financial decisions and minimize taxes.

Very grateful for comments like these afterward:

“One of the most engaging and enjoyable presenters I have seen.”
“Dynamic, personable, engaging, and one of the best I’ve seen.”
“Making things understandable and doable.”

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated. I really appreciate the opportunity to help make personal finance feel more accessible and less intimidating.

If you know an organization that values employee financial well-being and financial literacy, I’d be happy to connect.

I'm excited for the new speaker reel that SPIRO Creative made for me!

If you know of an organization that wants to improve its employees' financial well-being, get in touch.

No sales, no jargon, no judgment -only personal finance content that will help them make better financial decisions for themselves and their families.

It's all the stuff we were never taught but should have been!

What a day up in Fort St. John.

The City flew me up to deliver a full day of financial education to their team - six hours covering retirement planning, CPP strategy, money management, RRSPs, and TFSAs. Real, practical stuff that people can act on.

The feedback made the trip more than worth it. One person wrote that the information was presented "in a clear, non-biased way" and felt completely different from what they'd normally hear from a financial advisor.

That's the goal every time I present - leave people with information they actually own, not a sales pitch in disguise.

If you're an employer who wants to offer your team something with real, lasting value, let's talk.

When organizations invest in financial education for their employees, the impact goes beyond money.

Diana Forfar from The City of Prince George shares her experience bringing these sessions into the workplace and why they’ve become a valuable part of supporting staff well-being and engagement.

In this short testimonial, she talks about the decision to offer financial education and what stood out most for their team.

If your organization is thinking about employee financial wellness, this is a great place to start.

I was grateful to be back with the team at the City of Port Coquitlam.

The last time, we focused on taxes and retirement. This session was all about insurance and investing. Different topics, same goal. Helping people feel more confident with their money.

I’m always happy to receive feedback like this:

“Thank you for always facilitating such a great session, as always, Steve!”
“Great workshop! Takes the fear out of money questions. Feel much more confident.”
“Another great presentation with extremely useful information.”

If you’re part of an organization looking to offer a relatable and engaging financial wellness session for your team that doesn’t involve sales, reach out!

I had a Financial Facelift published in The Globe and Mail today.

This one happens to be my 10th article in the series, which feels like a nice little milestone. I always find these interesting because every situation is a bit different, and there are usually several possible ways to approach it.

This one looks at a couple's situation in which they have 3 rental properties and choose to rent themselves out. Interesting!

The comments section can be interesting too, where readers share their thoughts (as the 'expert', I sometimes have to have a thick skin when reading these, lol).

If you’d like the article, feel free to comment or message me, and I’ll send it.

CBC asked me to appear to talk about finances and dating. Really? A guy who spent $28 combined on his first 3 dates with his fiancée? What were they thinking? lol

Nice to be paired with an expert like Amy Chan!

Our segment starts at the 37:30 mark.

Description:— We hear from CBC National reporter Bryan Labby, who is in Tumbler Ridge, as B.C. marks an official day of mourning for the shooting victims. An...

Be careful out there!!

I’m seeing more personal finance content that makes it hard to tell whether you’re getting real guidance or just being sold something. The attached article is a good example. The headline promises advice for a 79-year-old couple, but the piece barely mentions them and is packed with affiliate links, including a push for critical illness insurance that doesn’t fit a couple on a very limited income.

Advertising is fine, but readers deserve transparency. If an article is really an ad, it should be labelled as one.

And interestingly, this same article has been published twice, months apart, by two different authors with identical wording.

While it's normal to worry, there is things this couple can do to quell their anxiety

What a fantastic podcast episode! Yes, they're my colleagues, but Daniel Evans and Jodie Stauffer had an excellent and valuable conversation about so many things: money, cash flow, investments, health, housing, and much more.

I was invited to provide the analysis for my 9th Financial Facelift in The Globe and Mail.

This one features Seth and Maeve, a couple in their early 50s with a mortgage-free home, solid incomes, and a defined benefit pension. They’re wondering if they can retire by 2029—or even earlier.

I walk through their numbers and outline how a few strategic choices can help them reach their retirement goals with confidence.

They hope to retire in 2029 or earlier, and defer government benefits to age 70
