Incorporating your business might sound like the “next step”—but is it the right step for you? 🤔

For Alberta small business owners, incorporation can offer benefits like limited liability, potential tax deferral, greater flexibility, and room to grow. But it also brings additional costs, paperwork, and ongoing responsibilities.
The best business structure isn’t necessarily the most official one. It’s the one that supports your income, cash flow, risk level, and long-term plans.

Our latest blog breaks down the pros and cons of incorporation to help you make a more informed decision: https://bit.ly/4gCr1rh

⚠️ CRA SCAM ALERT ⚠️

We've been made aware that many Canadians are receiving fraudulent text messages and emails claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

These scammers often create a sense of urgency by claiming you owe money, are owed a refund, or must take immediate action. Their goal is to steal your personal information, banking details, or money.

Here are a few red flags to watch for:
❌ Requests for payment through gift cards, cryptocurrency, e-transfers, or prepaid credit cards
❌ Threats of arrest, legal action, or immediate penalties
❌ Links asking you to verify personal or banking information
❌ Messages creating pressure to act immediately

✅ When in doubt, do not click any links or respond to the message.
✅ Verify communications directly through your CRA My Account or by contacting the CRA through official channels.

If you're unsure whether a message is legitimate, take a moment to verify before taking action. A few extra minutes could save you from becoming a victim of fraud.

Stay safe and share this post to help protect others.

Meet Brittney 👋👋

Brittney joined Stoutenberg & Company in December 2022 and has been a valued part of the team ever since. Born and raised in Olds, she still proudly calls the community home, where she lives with her husband Scott and their two kids.

Family and small-town values are at the heart of everything she does, both at home and at the office. Outside of work, you’ll find Brittney at the gym, camping out west, side-by-side, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Brittney looks forward to continuing to support the Stoutenberg & Company team and clients in any way she can.

We’re lucky to have her on board!

Meet Alla 👋👋

Born and raised in Ukraine, Alla moved to Canada in 2022 with her husband and son and quickly made Olds home. Like many of us, she fell in love with the town’s welcoming community, and we’re lucky it led her straight to our team.

Alla joined Stoutenberg & Company in June 2025 as our Administrative Assistant, bringing with her an impressive background that includes a PhD in Agriculture, along with experience in teaching and administration. Her attention to detail, organization, and calm presence make a big difference in our day-to-day operations.

Outside of work, Alla enjoys staying active and spending quality time with family and friends, whether that’s exploring nearby lakes, hiking local trails, or soaking up the outdoors.

We’re so glad to have you on the team, Alla! 💙
