September is Self-Care Awareness Month — and for Canadian business owners, taking care of your finances is one of the most meaningful forms of self-care you can practice. 🧘

Financial stress is one of the leading causes of burnout among entrepreneurs. When your books are disorganized, your deadlines uncertain, and your cash flow unclear, it takes a toll that extends far beyond the office.

Investing in professional financial support isn't a luxury — it's how you protect your energy, your health, and your business at the same time.

Visit www.interpaid.ca to learn how InterPaid® can lighten the load.

"It always seems impossible until it's done." — Nelson Mandela 💡

For Canadian business owners, this rings true for every financial system that once felt overwhelming — setting up proper bookkeeping, getting payroll right, filing on time, building reserves. Every one of these felt impossible to someone who eventually made it routine.

The hardest part is always starting. Once the right systems are in place and the right team is supporting you, what once felt impossible becomes simply the way things work.

At InterPaid®, we help Canadian businesses make the impossible feel inevitable — one organized, accurate month at a time.

A back-to-business brain teaser for September! 🧠

A Canadian self-employed consultant earns $8,500 per month. She sets aside 28% for income tax, 5.95% for the employee portion of CPP, and another 5.95% for the employer portion of CPP. After setting aside all three amounts, how much of her monthly income does she actually keep?

Work it out — then check: Tax set-aside = $8,500 × 28% = $2,380. Employee CPP = $8,500 × 5.95% = $505.75. Employer CPP = $8,500 × 5.95% = $505.75. Total set-aside = $3,391.50. Amount kept = $8,500 – $3,391.50 = $5,108.50. Did you get it?

This is exactly why self-employed Canadians need a proactive tax strategy — and why InterPaid® is here to help build one.

An August riddle to get your brain working! 🤔

I grow larger every time you delay dealing with me, I shrink when you address me promptly, and I disappear entirely when you plan ahead. The CRA knows me well, and so does every business owner who has ever missed a filing deadline. What am I?

Drop your answer in the comments! The answer is: Penalties and Interest. CRA penalties and interest charges accumulate from the day a payment or filing is missed — and they grow with every passing month. But with the right financial systems and professional support in place, they are entirely avoidable.

Featured Thought Leader: Robin Sharma 💡

Robin Sharma, author of 'The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari' and 'The 5 AM Club,' has spent decades teaching leaders and entrepreneurs how to build lives and businesses of extraordinary quality through discipline, intentionality, and consistent daily practice.

His central message — that world-class results come from world-class habits — translates directly to financial management. Clean books aren't the result of a single heroic effort. They're the result of consistent, disciplined attention every single month. The business owners who win financially are the ones who treat their books the way Robin Sharma treats mornings — with structure, intention, and non-negotiable consistency.

At InterPaid®, we build that consistency into your financial operations so it never depends on your motivation alone.

Labour Day is a celebration of the workers and builders who have shaped Canada — and a reminder of why getting payroll right matters more than most business owners realize. 🍁

Behind every Labour Day is a workforce that showed up, delivered, and trusted that their employer would do the same. Accurate, on-time payroll is one of the most fundamental expressions of that trust — and it's one that no Canadian business owner should take for granted.

At InterPaid®, we handle payroll with the precision and care that every Canadian worker deserves — because your team's confidence in you begins with knowing they'll be paid correctly, every time.

Happy Labour Day from the InterPaid® team.

September 15 is the deadline for the third quarterly income tax instalment for many Canadian self-employed individuals and investors — and missing it means immediate interest charges from the CRA. 😮

Quarterly instalments are required when your net tax owing exceeds $3,000 in the current year and either of the two preceding years. The CRA does not send reminders — it's your responsibility to know your obligations and meet them on time.

Many Canadians are unaware they owe instalments until they file their return and discover a balance owing plus retroactive interest charges that accumulated throughout the year.

InterPaid® helps Canadians stay on top of instalment obligations so interest charges are never a surprise.

Your Q3 corporate tax instalment could be due in the next 5 days — here's exactly what you need to know right now. ⏳

Canadian corporations owing more than $3,000 annually must make quarterly instalment payments to the CRA, with Q3 instalments due in late July or August depending on your fiscal year. Missing these payments means interest charges that start accumulating immediately — and they're 100% avoidable with the right systems in place.

Knowing your instalment amount, confirming your due date, and making the payment on time are the three things every Canadian corporation should be doing this week.

Visit www.interpaid.ca today and let InterPaid® make sure your Q3 obligations are fully covered.

Featured Movie: F1 (2025) 🎬

Brad Pitt stars in this high-octane racing drama as a veteran driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a young teammate — a story about speed, precision, and what it takes to compete at the absolute highest level. Every millisecond matters, every decision under pressure has consequences, and the teams that win are the ones with the best systems behind them.

In business, the same principles apply. The Canadian business owners who perform at the highest level aren't just working harder — they have better financial systems, cleaner data, and a support team handling the details so they can focus on the race.

At InterPaid®, we're the pit crew your business finances deserve.
