Katie joined our office in September and is quickly becoming a valuable member of our Operations Team. She has a background in Health Studies, earning her degree from the U of S, but has recently decided to switch gears. Her keen eye for detail and hard-working attitude mean that she has been quick to learn the ropes.

You might also notice some family resemblance with other members of our team. Jason and Marla are excited to have their daughter working alongside them.

Outside of work, Katie is often found spending time with her husband and their puppy, Lenny. In her free time she enjoys walking her dog, working out, and tending her garden.

The First Home Savings Account provides a great opportunity to save for a house down payment, with the deposit reducing your taxable income just like an RRSP.

Then, the money comes out tax-free if you use the money to buy a home.

Even if you are not planning to buy a home, it is essentially extra RRSP room since the balance can be transferred to an RRSP if you don't use it within 15 years of opening it.

These accounts are only available to people over the age of 18 who do not own a home yet or haven't owned one in the past 4 years.
