Five years ago today, I took a leap.

No guarantee it would work. No roadmap for what came next.

Just a belief that women and families deserved a space to find real clarity, calm, and confidence around their money story.

A place where money could feel good. Where the plan actually fit real life.

Where joy and intention were part of the conversation.

And a commitment to build exactly that.

Five years in, that belief hasn't changed. What has changed is everything we've built around it. The clients who trusted us. The relationships that grew. The moments we got to be part of.

If you've been on this journey with us at any point, thank you.

You are the reason Trū exists.

Here's to what's next 🤍

⛳️ I had a moment on the golf course this weekend that I keep coming back to.

I've been getting back into the game after knee surgeries. And it has been a journey of its own.

I was out playing with my daughter on Sunday, and I caught myself playing timid.
Hesitating. Holding back. Feeling a bit awkward. Not fully trusting my swing.

So I stopped. And reframed.

Because coming back to something you love isn't about being where you were. It's about showing up, one step at a time, and trusting the process of getting there.
And it hit me — money works the same way.

So many of us approach our finances with that same hesitation. Waiting until we feel ready. Afraid to make a move in case it's the wrong one.

But progress doesn't come from waiting for the perfect moment. It comes from micro habits. Small, consistent steps that build confidence and momentum over time.

✨ This week's reflection:
✔️ Where are you playing timid with your money?
✔️ What's one small financial habit you could commit to this week?

You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep moving forward.

🌸 Yesterday was Mother's Day.

And for me, it's a moment to think about the women who shaped everything I know about money.

Growing up, I watched very different relationships with money in my family.

But one person always stood out. My grandma Yaeko.

When my grandfather passed, she was still raising her family. She didn't have a plan handed to her. She built one.

She used her skills, went to work, and created financial independence for herself and her children. On her own.

And through all of it, she was one of the most generous people I've ever known.
She'd send us thoughtfully written cards in the mail with money tucked inside. Not to save. To spend on something we wanted.

Because she believed money was meant to be shared and enjoyed. And that giving feels good.

I have carried on her tradition of sending cards with money to our nieces and nephews on their birthday. To share, to give & to carry on the joy of money.

Some lessons don't need to be taught. They just need to be lived.

✨ This week's reflection:
Who is the woman who helped shape your relationship with money? And what did she show you?

May feels different.

Things are blooming. Growing. Shifting.

And it always makes me think about the things we're building in our own lives. But here's something that often gets overlooked: Growth without protection is just hope.

May is Disability Insurance Awareness Month. And while it's not the most exciting topic, it might be one of the most important.

Your income is your most valuable asset. Everything you're building depends on it.

One illness. One accident. Everything changes.

💪 This month's money action: If you don't have disability coverage, or haven't reviewed it recently, this is your sign.

Ask yourself: If I couldn't work for 3 months, 6 months, a year... would I be okay?

If the answer makes you pause, let's talk.

Want to learn more? I've linked a great breakdown of disability insurance in my bio.

Today is my anniversary 🎊 And I started to think back on all the conversations that got us here. Including the hard ones about money.

Because money is rarely just about money. Especially in relationships.

It's about:
♡ Priorities
♡ Security
♡ Freedom
♡ And sometimes... very different perspectives

There is no "right" way. Only what works for you, together.

The strongest financial partnerships aren't built on perfect agreement.

They're built on honest conversations, mutual respect, and a shared vision for the future.

♥ A question worth exploring (on your own or together): What does financial security look like to each of us, and why?

🌺 We recently returned from celebrating our son's wedding in the Dominican, and my heart (and perspective) is so full.

Moments like that have a way of bringing things into focus.

It had me reflecting on something I often talk about with my clients:
balance.

We spend so much energy planning for the future ~ saving, investing, building. And that work matters deeply. But so does the present.

Balance doesn't mean spending recklessly. And it doesn't mean every meaningful moment costs money either.

For some of us, it's a special trip.
For others, it's Sunday dinner at home or a long walk with someone you love.
The investment looks different for everyone, and that's okay.

✨ This week's reflection:
What's one experience, big or small, that you want to be intentional about making room for?

🌷 Tulip season is almost here. A reminder that growth begins beneath the surface, long before we see it bloom.

The same is true for your finances.

Spring is the perfect time to gently clear, reset, and make space for what matters most:
🌷 Cancel or pause subscriptions you’re no longer using
🌷 Clean up and consolidate accounts or old paperwork
🌷 Revisit your goals ~ what still fits this season of life?
🌷 Adjust your spending to align with your current priorities
🌷 Redirect one expense toward something more meaningful

Because just like tulips…what you nurture now quietly shapes what blooms next.

Where in your financial life is it time for a fresh start?

Give Vision → Gain Legacy

Throughout this month, we’ve reflected on the many ways women have shaped financial progress.

Giving courage to expand opportunity.
Giving knowledge to build confidence.
Giving consistency to create growth.
Giving stewardship to strengthen security.

And now we arrive at something powerful...Vision.

Because wealth doesn’t only grow from what we do today. It grows from what we believe is possible for tomorrow.

Across Canada and around the world, more women are investing, building businesses, leading financial conversations, and shaping their financial futures than ever before.

Each decision ~ to learn, to invest, to plan, to lead ~ contributes to a bigger story.

A story where financial independence becomes more accessible, more intentional, and more widely shared.

That’s the power of vision.

When we choose to think beyond today, we begin building something that lasts.

Not just wealth ~ but legacy.

Mindful Money Insight: Vision gives direction to every financial decision we make.

This week’s wealth move:
✨ Write one financial intention for the next 12 months
✨ Identify one habit that will support that goal
✨ Take one step this week that moves your future forward

Because when we give vision, we gain legacy
