The 2024 tax filing season has been plagued with issues from slips not being available, to retrieval of slips, to duplicate slips, to e-filing error codes. Please be patient but also be diligent in watching your mail and personal CRA My Account. If your return is filed differently from what was expected, please review your notice of assessment and compare it to your completed return.

The following is an article from Investment Executive regarding some of the issues that are being dealt with in the 2024 tax filing season.

In the article, there is a link where CIBC Melon addresses the duplication of some slips. If this is applicable for you, please save the information for your records as you may need to prove that the duplicate slip is in fact not applicable.

Update on Hours For Easter Weekend:

M.A. Tax Plus will be closed on Friday April 18 and Saturday April 19.

We will return to Lacombe the following week and we will be in touch with those still needing to pick up their returns.

Please note that due to the number of returns we have received, April 12 will be the last day to get your returns in to ensure they are processed by the tax filing deadline (unless previous arrangements have been made).

If your returns are received after this date they will be noted as such and we cannot guarantee that they will be filed by the April 30th deadline.

This will apply to both in person and online filing options.

If you were to ask Rick (who does all our document scanning for M.A. Tax Plus) what his least favourite document to scan was - I bet he would say prescription receipts. Jacob (Amanda's son) has a solution for all those annoying prescription receipts - check it out!

Starting Feb 21, 2025 we will have a temporary office set up in Room 128 of the Greenway Inn Travelodge at 5402 Hwy 2 Lacombe on Thursday evenings, and Friday’s from 10am - 7pm and Saturday’s from 10am - 6pm.

Please call to book an appointment for drop off or if you do not need an appointment and are returning please feel free to use our quick drop option during our hours of operation.
