Minimum wage in Nova Scotia is now $17 per hour.

The increase took effect today and will help workers keep up with the cost of living.

The adjustment follows the recommendation of the Minimum Wage Review Committee and reflects a phased approach that supports workers while giving employers time to plan and adapt.

At the same time, the Province is helping businesses manage costs by lowering the small business tax rate and increasing the small business tax threshold. Employers can also access programs and services that help them recruit, train and retain workers.

Together, these measures support workers, businesses and a growing economy.

🖤🌙 GUESS WHO’S BACK?! 🌙🖤

After three wonderful weeks away, the Nightfall crew is officially home and we’ll be back in the office TOMORROW at 10 AM! 🎉

We had an amazing vacation, made tons of memories, spent some much-needed time with family and, most importantly...

🏰✨ Tracey got her Mickey Mouse fix, so she should be good for at least a little while. 😂🐭

(We all know it won’t last. 🤣)

As much as I love Disney — and we ALL know how much I love Disney 😂 — I’m actually excited to get back to Nightfall.

We missed you guys! 🖤

We know there are lots of emails, messages, paperwork and probably a few CRA adventures waiting for us, so please have a little patience with us over the next few days while we work through everything that came in while we were away.

🌙 Regular office hours are back:
Monday – Thursday | 10 AM – 5 PM

Vacation mode: OFF 🏖️❌
Mickey Mouse fix: COMPLETE 🐭✅
Nightfall mode: ACTIVATED 🌙🖤

See you tomorrow at 10! We can’t wait to see everyone again! 🖤

🖤🏆 THREE YEARS. THREE YEARS OF PLATINUM. 🏆🖤

We did it AGAIN, Nightfall family!! 🥹🖤

Nightfall Bookkeeping & Taxes has been voted PLATINUM in FOUR categories in the CommunityVotes Cape Breton 2026 awards!

🏆 Platinum — Accountants
🏆 Platinum — Accounting Firms
🏆 Platinum — Bookkeeping
🏆 Platinum — Income Tax Preparation

But what makes this one extra special?

This is our THIRD YEAR IN A ROW winning Platinum. 🥹🏆

Nightfall just celebrated our 3rd birthday… which means you have supported us, voted for us, and helped us earn Platinum every single year we’ve been in business.

That honestly blows my mind.

When I opened Nightfall in 2023, I just wanted to create a place where people could come for help with their taxes and finances without feeling embarrassed, overwhelmed, or judged. I never imagined how quickly this little spooky business would grow or how much love our community would show us.

These awards aren’t just ours. They’re yours too.

To our amazing team, our family and friends, and every single client who has walked through our doors, sent someone our way, shared a post, left a kind word, or voted for us — THANK YOU. 🖤

Three years of Nightfall.
Three years of Platinum.
And this year… FOUR Platinum awards. 🏆🏆🏆🏆

I’d say that’s a pretty wicked way to celebrate our 3rd birthday. 😉🖤🌙

Thank you, everyone. We couldn’t do this without you. 🖤

Only two more sleeps until the big day!! Please note that everything will start at 11:00 - see the schedule and map below.

Free Admission!! Family-friendly event with animals for the children (and big kids, too) to see.
Children's tug-of-war (hoping to see representation from all the Coal mining communities, as I know there is great spirit in all of them).

Don't forget your bug spray, sunscreen, a hat/head covering, a comfortable chair to sit on, and some cash for the vendors (they may not accept debit or credit). I believe Father Doug might be saying extra prayers, like all of us, that the weather will be good.

Opening ceremonies will be at 1:00 pm.

Please share this post with everyone you know!!!
