"How much do I have to save each month to have $250,000 at age 65?"
Assuming the investment makes 6% a year and you start at:
Age 25 - $125/month
Age 35 - $250/month
Age 45 - $550/month
Age 55 - $1,550/month

How long will $250,000 last in retirement? Every situation is different because of what work and government retirement programs are available to YOU.

$250,000 can reliably provide $15,000 a year, before income tax is paid. For some, that $15,000 will last a long time, and for some it won't.
