A money guru asked “What's your favorite hack to saving money in your monthly budget?” And these were popular 3 answers:

3️⃣ Using Facebook marketplace when I need something instead of buying new

2️⃣ Getting a retirement job in the airline industry to cut costs on travel. In 19 more months I have flight benefits for life

1️⃣ Sending hubby to the grocery store. He won’t get it if it’s not on the list

Money is the most common thing couples fight about. No 2 humans are the same and differing spending habits can spark fiery conversations when you are sharing the financial responsibilities.

The next time you feel the money fight sneaking up on you. Repeat this mantra.

You are not the problem.
Your partner is not the problem.
The problem is the problem.

Likely TFSA. If you haven't opened one yet - you should. If you need a financial goal - I'll pull one out of a hat for you:

MAX OUT YOUR TFSA

Don't worry about the RSP and 'saving taxes' and blah blah blah. OPEN A TFSA and CONTRIBUTE TO IT REGULARLY. And make sure it's INVESTED and not just earning you 0.03%.

Is that the permission slip you were waiting for?

*this is not financial advice

💰If you have a work pension, rental properties or make under $100k you likely would be better served to contribute to your TFSA- here’s why:

1️⃣Between ages 35 - 65 you put $100/week into a TFSA:
-at age 65 you have $490k
-this will provide you with $41,500/year in recurring income from age 65 to 91
💰
2️⃣Between ages 35 - 65 you put $100/week into a RSP:
-at age 65 you have $490k
-this will provide you with $31,000/year in recurring income from age 65 to 91 because you will share with CRA via taxes
