22 days until April 30.
That's the CRA filing deadline for most Canadians — and if you owe money, it's also your payment due date, even if you're self-employed with a June 15 filing extension.
Miss it and you're looking at a 5% penalty on your balance plus daily compounding interest starting May 1.
Still haven't filed? There's time — but not a lot of it.
Our team at DCP Accounting is ready to help you get it done right. Personal returns, corporate tax, self-employed income — we handle it all across Canada.

✨ Meet the Owner – DCP Accounting ✨

Hi, I’m Angy Carpio, Co-Founder of DCP Accounting 👋

I’m a professional accountant and an entrepreneur at heart. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with business owners, independent professionals, and families—helping them understand their numbers, make informed decisions, and build financial stability with confidence.

DCP Accounting was created with a simple purpose: to provide clear, human, and strategic accounting services. I truly believe accounting shouldn’t feel overwhelming or impersonal—it should be a powerful tool that supports growth, planning, and long-term success.

Beyond the numbers, I’m relationship-driven. I value teamwork, community, and personalized service. Every client’s situation is unique, and I’m committed to offering thoughtful guidance, attention to detail, and solutions tailored to each business.

On a personal level, my biggest motivation is my family ❤️. They inspire me daily and remind me why building something meaningful truly matters. I also believe in balance—fitness and time at the gym are an important part of my routine, reinforcing discipline, consistency, and the mindset I bring into my professional life.

Through DCP Accounting, my mission is to:
👉 help clients feel confident and informed about their finances,
👉 support them through every stage of their business journey, and
👉 act as a trusted financial partner as they grow and evolve.

Thank you for being here and for being part of this community.

CRA Says You Owe Back Benefits? Read This First.

Did you receive a letter from the CRA saying you must repay benefits like:

• Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
• Carbon Tax (Climate Action Incentive)
• GST/HST credit
• Other government payments

Don’t panic — but don’t ignore it.

This usually happens because of:

Income reassessments
Marital status changes
Residency issues
Late tax filing
Eligibility reviews

⚠️ The most critical moment:

When you receive a Notice of Redetermination.
You only have 90 days to file an objection if you disagree.

When should you contact your MP?

👉 If CRA isn’t responding
👉 If you’re facing serious financial hardship
👉 If collections start while you're disputing
👉 If there are unreasonable delays

Your MP can’t erase the debt — but they can escalate your case and help ensure it's reviewed properly.

🚨 Ignoring the letter can lead to collections, garnishments, and loss of future refunds.

If you’re unsure what to do, get advice before the 90-day deadline passes

📌 ¿Vendo cosas usadas (silla, mueble, revista)?

Entonces… ¿nunca hay que declarar?

No siempre.
