🎨🍷 Painting, Sipping, and a Lesson in Joy 🍷🎨

A huge thank you to Amica Bronte Harbour for hosting a festive paint & sip party yesterday! When I received the invite, I accepted it immediately—it sounded like such a fun and unique experience.

To be honest, I joked that I probably hadn’t painted since elementary school, when my “masterpieces” were either finger paintings or paint-by-numbers. But thanks to Karlene of Karlene Bland Fine Art, who guided us with step-by-step instructions, I surprised myself.

In between brushstrokes, we enjoyed a gorgeous spread of food and a few sips of wine—perfect ingredients for a relaxing and creative afternoon.

And the best part? As I painted, I was genuinely shocked at what I was able to create. Sure, I’m not quitting my day job anytime soon (I love it way too much!), but I discovered how therapeutic and enjoyable painting can be.

It also made me realize: I need more hobbies like this. Beyond my love for working out and music, adding something new to my “therapeutic toolkit” feels essential. These little joys are powerful, especially on tough days, to help reset, cheer up, and find a better mood.

So, as the holidays approach, I’d love to pass this thought to you:
✨ What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
✨ What do you find therapeutic?
✨ What brings you genuine pleasure and joy?

Make a list & check it twice. In 2025, carve out time to embrace these activities. Let’s make it the year of fun, creativity, and fulfillment—one joyful moment at a time!

Here’s to a brighter, more balanced year ahead!

What would you do if you had to come up with $33,000 by tomorrow?

Would you have an emergency fund ready to cover it, or would you be dipping into credit and scrambling for solutions?

Now think about this: $33,000 is what the average Canadian cancer patient needs to cover expenses that aren’t covered by provincial or federal healthcare.
Lower-income Canadians often face even greater challenges without additional coverage.
Canadians in rural areas? They’re spending even more to travel for treatment.

It’s a tough reality. Imagine the impact on your financial plan if you or a loved one heard the words, “You’ve got cancer.”

For me, it wasn’t just imagination—it happened. Thankfully, I follow my own advice.
The cheque I received meant I could use other people’s money to keep up with bills and protect my financial plan.
Even more importantly, the second opinion report I accessed helped me determine the best course of action for my recovery.

This isn’t just about cancer; it’s about planning for the unexpected and ensuring your family stays protected when life throws you a curveball.

Wouldn’t you rather have peace of mind knowing you’ve planned for life’s “what-ifs”?

The Hidden Costs of Cancer Care in Canada: Are You Prepared?

Did you know that 20% of cancer care costs in Canada fall directly on patients and their caregivers? That added up to $7.5 billion in 2024—an average of $33,000 out of pocket per patient.

While treatments like chemotherapy and radiation are covered by OHIP, many associated expenses aren’t:
- Take-home chemo drugs and some prescription drugs
- Travel, parking, and accommodations
- Lost income from time off work

For lower-income households and those in rural communities, the burden is even heavier. In extreme cases, patients might even relocate temporarily, doubling their housing expenses.

What’s heartbreaking is that some people delay or forego life-saving treatment because they simply can’t afford it. 💔

And these costs are only expected to rise, with estimates reaching $8.8 billion in the next decade.

So, here’s the question:
If you suddenly needed $33,000 for treatment, could you come up with it?
What if you didn’t have to drain your savings or investment accounts?

The good news is, there are solutions to help manage these unexpected expenses—and I’m here to walk you through them. As someone who’s seen firsthand how quickly costs like gas, parking, Uber, and time off work can add up, I’m passionate about helping people plan ahead so finances never get in the way of critical care.

Let’s chat. Book a time that works for you here: https://calendly.com/jamiemadigan/intro

Together, we can ensure you’re financially prepared for life’s unexpected challenges.

Staying Ahead in a Changing Financial Landscape

In the ever-evolving world of finance, staying ahead of the curve isn’t just an option—it’s a responsibility I take seriously. That’s why I recently completed a specialized course in Bitcoin, enabling me to offer a Bitcoin mutual fund to my clients.

Why consider Bitcoin in your portfolio?
Let’s be clear—Bitcoin isn’t for everyone. It’s a highly volatile asset class. But according to research from Fidelity, adding just a small allocation (2-3%) can enhance diversification in your portfolio, potentially strengthening its resilience.

Here’s the real question:

Why buy Bitcoin through a mutual fund versus traditional methods?

1) Ease of Use
No need to memorize complex passwords or figure out “hot” vs. “cold” storage. I take care of the technical details so you don’t have to.

2) Fraud Protection
Scams are rampant in the crypto space. AI-driven fake ads featuring celebrities have already claimed over 2,000 victims globally this year, costing millions. Investing through a trusted financial professional eliminates that risk.

3) Transparency & Accessibility
With a mutual fund, you know exactly where your money is, how much it’s worth, and you can access it anytime. No surprises.

I’m passionate about offering solutions that make cutting-edge investment opportunities accessible—and safe—for my clients. Whether Bitcoin fits into your financial strategy depends on your goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon.

Curious to learn more? Let’s connect! Schedule some time on my calendar, and we can explore whether this is the right fit for you. https://calendly.com/jamiemadigan/intro

Have questions about Bitcoin or crypto investing? Drop them in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts!

The Power of Giving: A Story for Giving Tuesday

A few years ago, I met a client who wanted to make a difference but felt unsure how to start. They were busy, had a family, and felt stretched thin. Sound familiar?

Then, one Giving Tuesday, they stumbled upon an opportunity that changed everything. They learned about a local charity supporting food-insecure families. Instead of donating money, they started volunteering once a month—packing food hampers on a Saturday morning.

That small act of giving created a ripple effect. Over time, they involved their kids, inspired friends to join in, and even started including charitable giving in their financial plans. Today, they tell me those Saturdays are the highlight of their month.

Giving Tuesday is a chance to begin your own ripple effect. Whether it’s donating online (a quick and easy option given the Canada Post strike), giving food to a local bank, or lending your time, your contribution can create change.

So, how will you give today? Let’s make this the best Giving Tuesday yet. 💙

💻 Black Friday Sale Extended For Cyber Week: Let’s Make a Difference Together 💻
Last weekend’s response to my Black Friday sale was incredible, and it’s made me realize something: I want to keep the momentum going. That’s why I’ve decided to extend my Cyber Week offer to help even more Canadian families—especially those impacted by cancer.

💙 Why This Mission Matters to Me
As someone currently facing my own battle with cancer, I deeply understand what patients, survivors, their families, and care teams are going through. It’s not just about the financial side—it’s about feeling supported, informed, and empowered to make decisions that matter.

In my work, I combine empathy, education on patient advocacy, and a focus on getting your financial affairs in order. I encourage my clients to ask questions and take control of their journey. Because when it comes to planning, being proactive is everything.

Why Timing Is Key
Investing: The earlier you start, the longer your money has to grow and compound. Time is your best friend here.
Insurance: The younger and healthier you are, the cheaper your premiums will be. Waiting could mean higher costs—or missing opportunities altogether.

How I Can Help
When you hire me as your financial coach, you’ll get:
✔️ Clear answers to your financial questions
✔️ A plan tailored to your unique needs
✔️ Peace of mind, knowing you’re on the right path
✔️ More time to focus on what you love and the people who matter most

Don’t Wait—Let’s Get Started!
There’s no “perfect” time to begin, but the earlier we start, the more options you’ll have. Take the first step toward peace of mind and book a time on my calendar that works for you.

You’ve got this—and I’m here to help.

Yesterday, Z103.5 held a radiothon in support of cancer research. They’re continuing to accept donations for Princess Margaret, 1 of the top 5 cancer research hospitals in the world.

If you’re able to, please donate here: https://supportthepmcf.ca/ui/Z1035Radiothon/donations/start

Princess Margaret is 1 of the hospitals that I’m working with in my battle against cancer & the staff have all been amazing.

By supporting them, we can find answers & cures, so that this terrible disease doesn’t impact as many families going forward. Together, we can all make a difference!
