I am taking a rare evening off tonight to see the wonderful and talented Aileen Edwards speak at the Quinte Women in Business event.

I am blessed to have met Aileen as a client in 2022. She quickly become someone that I look up to. She is extremely intelligent, strong and a wise business woman.

My time spent in upper management and financial controller positions has shown me that the number one most difficult hurdle for any business is human resources. Aileen's business focuses on teaching businesses how to effectively lead and manage by coaching leaders on executive presence.

So excited to see her presentation this evening.

Tax season is almost here!

As most of you have noticed, after some "upgrades" to CRA systems last year, there was an unprecedented increase in the number of reviews, challenges on filing and general issues with CRA as a whole.

The report released by the Auditor General in 2025 was shocking, but does not surprise me. Only 17% of the calls they made to CRA contained accurate information.

I take pride in not only doing the best that I can for everyone who walks into my office, but also for continuing support throughout the year. I include CRA support with my filing fee.

Last year, I hit my hours dealing with CRA from 2024 by April.

I strive to not only give my very best to every client, but to also keep my prices reasonable.

It's unfortunate that I have to increase my prices this year, but with the difficulties we have all faced and the endless hours I spend fighting with them, I have no choice.

I am sorry that I have to do this. I am still going to keep costs to a minimum and will always continue to provide top notch service.
