GST filing isn’t just entering a number into CRA and hitting submit.

Before filing, your books should support the return.

That means reviewing things like:
• GST collected on sales
• GST paid on eligible business expenses
• Bank and credit card transactions
• Missing receipts or invoices
• Previous GST balances
• Any unusual transactions during the period

A properly reconciled GST return can help prevent surprises later.

Ayore Capital provides bookkeeping and GST filing support for small businesses.

Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue — it’s a financial-control issue too.
A convincing email asking you to “update banking information” can create a real risk if there isn’t a clear process behind the payment.

Simple controls matter:
• Verify banking changes using a contact method you already trust
• Require a second approval for unusual or significant payments
• Use multi-factor authentication on banking, email, and accounting systems
• Limit access to only what each employee needs
• Have a clear process for suspicious requests

The goal isn’t to make payments harder.

It’s to make sure one convincing email can’t move your money.

Bookkeeping should tell you more than what happened last year.

With consistent monthly bookkeeping, you can see:

• Where your money is going
• Which expenses are increasing
• What customers still owe you
• What bills are coming due
• Whether cash flow is tightening
• How the business is actually performing

Ayore Capital provides ongoing bookkeeping and monthly financial reporting tailored to small businesses and organizations.

Based in Wainwright • Serving businesses across Alberta & Saskatchewan

There’s money in the bank, so the business must be doing well… right?

Not necessarily.

Your bank balance doesn’t tell you:
• What bills are still unpaid
• What customers still owe you
• Upcoming payroll and tax obligations
• Whether the business is actually profitable
• How much cash the business will need next month

Good bookkeeping gives you the bigger picture.

Your financial statements should help you understand your business — not just satisfy your accountant at year-end.

Alberta recently launched a new WorkFirst Talent Exchange to help employers connect with people looking for work.

That can make finding candidates easier.

But before posting the next position, there’s another question worth answering:

Can the business comfortably carry the hire?

An employee costs more than the hourly wage or salary.

Depending on the business, you may also be carrying:
- employer CPP and EI
- vacation pay
- WCB
- benefits
- payroll administration
- training and onboarding
- equipment, software or a vehicle
- and the time it takes before the new employee is fully productive

That doesn’t mean don’t hire.

It means know the number before you do.

If adding another employee lets the business take on more work, improve service or free up the owner’s time, it can be one of the best investments the company makes.

Just make sure the cash flow supports the decision.

If you’re hiring this fall, Alberta’s new WorkFirst Talent Exchange may be another tool worth checking out — then build the cost of that position into your forecast before making the commitment.

October is here — and that means it’s a good time to make sure September is properly wrapped up.

A few things worth checking:
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Outstanding customer invoices
• Supplier bills still waiting for payment
• Payroll liabilities
• GST balances and upcoming filing deadlines
• Monthly financial reports

Keeping your books current throughout the year makes tax season a lot easier.

📊 Want a clearer picture of your business finances before year-end?

Maybe your books need attention.

Maybe cash flow feels unpredictable.

Maybe you receive financial reports but aren’t really sure what they’re telling you.

Maybe customers owe you money and receivables need better tracking.

Or maybe the business is doing well — but you want better information before making your next decision.

Ayore Capital works with small businesses on:

✅ Bookkeeping
✅ Financial cleanup
✅ Cash-flow forecasting
✅ Monthly financial reporting
✅ Budgeting and planning
✅ Profit and pricing analysis
✅ Fractional CFO support

You don’t need a full-time finance department to have better financial visibility.

You need clean information, useful reporting and financial systems that help you understand where the business stands.

If that’s something your business could use before year-end, send Ayore Capital a message and tell us what’s going on.

Ayore Capital helps small business owners build cleaner systems, clearer reporting, and better financial visibility month to month.

Starting October 1, Alberta’s provincial fuel tax on gasoline and diesel drops to zero.
For businesses running trucks, service vehicles or equipment, that changes more than the number on the fuel receipt — it changes part of the Q4 budget.

The useful question isn’t just:
“How much are we saving?”

It’s:
What are we going to do with the difference?
For a fuel-heavy business, those savings can help:
- build a little more working-capital room
- catch up on vehicle or equipment maintenance
- reduce debt
- protect margin as other costs rise
- or simply give the business more breathing room heading into winter

A lower expense only improves the business if you know where the savings are going.

Before October starts, update the fuel assumptions in your October–December cash-flow forecast and make the savings intentional.

For businesses across Wainwright, Provost, Lloydminster and surrounding east-central Alberta, small changes in operating costs can add up quickly.
