What is the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB)?
The Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) is a new federal program designed to provide direct financial support to people with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 64. It is an income support program intended to reduce poverty and help people with disabilities achieve greater financial security and independence.

How much could you receive?
First payments will begin in July 2025 for applications received and approved by June 30, 2025. The maximum amount you could receive is $200 per month or $2,400 per year. This amount will depend on your income from the previous year as well as your family status.

• You must be between the ages of 18 and 64
• You must be approved for or currently receiving the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)
• You must have filed your 2024 federal income tax return

How to apply:
If you are approved for the Disability Tax Credit and meet the eligibility requirements, you will receive a letter with a unique code and instructions on how to apply for the Canada Disability Benefit. Starting June 20th, you can apply,
