In October 1999, a skate blade sliced off a nickel-sized chunk of Darren McCarty's face near his left eye. His teammates found it on the ice, team doctor John Finley reattached it with 40 stitches or so, and McCarty finished the game – while complaining about having to wear a visor. 🤯
