🗓️ With tax filing starting soon, take a few minutes now to:

🔐 Make sure you can access your CRA account
Recover your login if needed and set up a backup multi-factor authentication (MFA) option (like an authenticator app or passcode grid) to avoid getting locked out.

📋 Update important personal details in My CRA Account, including:

✔️ Home & mailing address
✔️ Phone number & email address
✔️ Direct deposit / banking information
✔️ Marital or family status (marriage, separation, dependants, etc.)
✔️ Authorized representatives (like your accountant)
✔️ Communication preferences

💸 Keeping this info current helps ensure:
• You receive benefits and credits on time
• No delays with refunds
• Fewer issues during tax filing

📞 Trying to reach the CRA but facing long wait times? You’re not alone!

Many people across Canada are experiencing delays when calling the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Due to high call volumes, wait times can sometimes exceed 30 minutes — or you may be redirected to automated services.

👉 Before calling, check the official CRA contact page here:

Here are a few helpful tips:
✅ Use CRA’s automated phone service for quick updates — available almost 24/7 (except 3 a.m.–6 a.m. ET).
✅ Have your SIN, date of birth, and address ready before calling.
✅ Try calling early in the morning or mid-week when lines may be less busy.
✅ Many common questions can be answered through My Account or CRA’s website — no call needed!

Let’s help spread awareness so others can save time and avoid frustration. 💡

Please share this post to let your friends, family, or clients know about CRA’s current wait times and online alternatives. 🇨🇦

📢 Attention trustees!

For the 2024 tax year, we will continue to administer the trust reporting rules as enacted for tax years ending on or after December 31, 2023.

To avoid penalties, affected trusts need to file a T3 return and Schedule 15, unless specific conditions are met.

Bare trusts are not required to file for 2024 unless we ask.
