Kinda chic, but also kind of the point.

Having your financial life together doesn’t mean having every answer or never changing course. It means knowing what you’re working toward, understanding how the pieces fit together, and having a plan that can change when life does.

If it’s been a while since your last review, now is a good time to meet with your advisor.

Financial planning is deeply personal, and the quality of the guidance depends on the strength of the relationship.

Understanding what matters to someone, being candid about the decisions that matter, and staying engaged as life and priorities evolve are all part of doing this work well.

We’re grateful when clients take the time to share their experience.

Manitoba summer is short. The ice cream stops should be long.

We rounded up some of our favourite places to grab a cone. From neighbourhood classics to stops worth planning a road trip.

**How many have you tried? And more importantly, what spots did we miss?**

Drop your must-stop Manitoba ice cream spot in the comments. We may need to make room for a few more cones.

Plot twist: your RESP withdrawal isn't as simple as "take the money out."

Some of it's tax-free; some of it isn't. Getting the order wrong can cost you. Getting it right is easier than you think, once you know the rules.

August is a good time to revisit your RESP account(s).

One of the biggest advantages of an RESP is the Canada Education Savings Grant. The federal government contributes 20% of the first $2,500 you contribute each year, up to $500 annually, with a lifetime maximum of $7,200 per child.

If you've missed contributions in past years, you may also be able to catch up on unused grant room.

Book a meeting with your advisor. It's worth a look before the school year begins.

Most of us picture our financial plan staying the same while the markets move around it. Usually it's the other way around.

One day, you're focused on building a career. Before you know it, you're helping your children buy their first home, supporting aging parents, thinking about retirement, or wondering what will happen to the family cottage.

Markets will always move up and down, but it's often the changes in our own lives that have the biggest impact on our financial plans.

That's why the best financial plans aren't set once and forgotten. They grow and change alongside the people they're built to support.

Has your life changed over the past few years? It might be a good time to make sure your financial plan is keeping up.
