It cannot be stressed enough: a good financial advisor should be able to answer all of your questions, even if you need to ask the same ones repeatedly.

Many people hesitate to speak up out of fear or embarrassment, don’t let that be you!

Clarity is your right, and a good advisor will always provide it.

How much are you actually paying your financial advisor? If you don’t know the exact number, it’s time to have a talk.

Fees are a critical part of your investment strategy. The goal is to keep them as low as possible. To do that, you need to understand the three main layers of costs:

-Advisor Compensation: This is the salary or commission paid to your advisor for their services.
-Investment Fees: These are management fees built into the products you own, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds.
-Administrative Fees: Most institutions charge these to cover account maintenance and tax document preparation.

Some firms bundle everything into one "all-in" number, while others break it down into several smaller line items. Regardless of the format, your advisor should be able to provide a clearly detailed annual summary of every dollar you paid.

Stop nodding along to your financial advisor's jargon. 🛑

In the 7th and final part of our series on "What to Ask Your Advisor", we’re talking about clarity.

The rule is simple: If you don’t understand something, ask for an explanation. Then ask again. And a third time if you have to. Don’t be shy about it!

It isn’t your job to master their industry’s "secret language", it’s their job to speak yours. If they can’t explain it simply, that’s on them, not you.

Time to put your financial advisor in the hot seat. 🔥

In Part 5 of my "What to Ask Your Advisor" series, I’m talking about hypotheticals. I call it the $1 / $1,000 / $100,000 test.

Ask them: "What would you do with these three different amounts of money for me?"

You’re looking for a consistent plan. You want to see that they have a solid way of thinking that works whether you’re just starting small or have a lot to invest. If their logic doesn't make sense at every level, that's a red flag.

What's the #1 sign of a trustworthy advisor?
They lead with a plan.

In Part 4 of our series, "7 Questions to Ask Your Financial Advisor," we’re talking about why you should ask for a plan.
If you aren't sure where to start, here are three ideas of what to ask:

✅ Can we map my retirement timeline?
✅ Can we budget for my kid’s university?
✅ Can we save for a home in 5 years?

A real advisor will help you solve these problems without hiding behind "extra fees."

Watch the full video to learn how to vet your advisor's process and make sure they’re actually working for you.

The best way to know if you have the right financial advisor
is to ask the questions most people avoid.

Here’s another one you should never hesitate to ask:

❓ Question 3 : What credentials do you hold?

How Do You Know Your Financial Advisor Is Legit?
What training have they completed?
Are they licensed?
What standards are they held to?

You deserve to know who you’re trusting with your finances.

Remember this:

👉 Titles matter.
👉 Standards matter.
👉 Qualifications matter.

Transparency builds trust.

My job is to educate and simplify complex financial concepts.
If you have questions, please feel free to ask.

Why Your Advisor’s Investment Philosophy Matters

The best way to know if you have the right financial advisor
is to ask the questions most people avoid.

Here’s another one you should never hesitate to ask:

❓ What is your investment philosophy?

How do they approach risk?
Do they believe in long-term investing?
Market timing?
Diversification?

Every recommendation they give you
comes from a belief system.

If they can’t clearly explain their philosophy,
how can you trust the strategy?

Remember this:

👉 Strategy drives decisions.
👉 Philosophy drives strategy.

The best way to learn about finances
is to ask the questions most people avoid.

That’s exactly why I’m creating this new video series.

My goal is simple:
to help you better understand your finances
and make confident, informed decisions.

In this video, I share the first one you should never be afraid to ask:

❓ Ask your advisor how they are paid.

The answer should be straightforward and easy to understand.
And you should never feel uncomfortable seeking clarity.

Remember these two things:

👉 Incentives shape advice.
👉 Transparency builds trust.

Would you have 5 different people cut your hair to cover all sides of your head?

Would you stay at 3 different hotels the same night to take advantage of all their services?

Why would you invest your money with different advisors?

Never mistake compromise for diversification. If your advisor isn’t meeting all of your needs, they are not the right person for you.

At Assante, be well advised on all fronts. Don’t compromise
