During these times of uncertainty due to new illness and pestilence seemingly daily. I want to take a moment out and recognize how blessed I am. I come from parents who believed in being vigilant of my freedoms and safety. I was born into a land which is a representative republic (The United States) the founders of which were inspired by God. Yet they were also men George Washington, a man who was the cousin of King George III. Who as all of the other founding fathers had a plantation, what we would term Slavers, Virginian's. All men of the South.
During these times of uncertainty due to new illness and pestilence seemingly daily. I want to take a moment out and recognize how blessed I am. I come from parents who believed in being vigilant of my freedoms and safety. I was born into a land which is a representative republic (The United States) the founders of which were inspired by God. All men of the South.
A land that has fought and bled and continues to do so for the rights of All men! While the United States still has a deep divide in races, with those of ignorance who either do not want to see the cracks that need repairing or those in fear for whatever reason.
The statement "all men are created equal" places all of us on the same footing. No one should be more or less entitled to opportunity or freedom. This also should not mean anyone deserves any more than anyone else based on those same qualifiers as well. In some ways the United States has drifted away from its founding principals. Imagine if in that system as was done earlier the winner being president and that person who looses being Vice President forcing the two and the two parties to work together what a difference there may be.
On the Other side, I am blessed to be a citizen as well of one of the only democracies in the world today. A country defined by its neutrality and willingness to compromise and looking for solutions working with others. A country founded in ca. 1291 one whos founding many forget or do not know opposed to oppression. One who gained independence taking humble farmers and making them into worriers and for their time a light on the hill. Switzerland, became well known providing brave worriers around Europe and understood that the spirit within these men who it would be proven were loyal and stand until the end.
One land just celebrated its Birthday on the 4th of July, the other soon to celebrate its creation August 1st.
While we allow others, unjust men to divide us based on colour, creed, nationality, religious or political views. Having in some cases vastly different views on forms of government or in others draping themselves in the flags or symbols of those very freedoms. Let us remember God has had his hands in enjoying the freedoms we have today moving quietly behind the scenes in directing, inspiring, assisting, and moving men toward him and what we have today.
Let us agree to move forward together as Gods children regardless of racial, geographical, social economics, political beliefs. We are all brothers and sisters, you simply can not offend, hurt, or dismiss anyone without doing it to yourself, your family, and your children.
What leaders should be doing is to move forward to heal its citizens, not divide them further, stoking the fires of insecurities, fear and hate. Let us move forward in God and Christ image in the weeks, months and years to come. Move forward in Christ, expose these secret combinations, those who would be destroyer's and not peace makers this is my prayer!! Enjoy and reflect on the past, present and future of the country and world you live in.
