Did you know tax saving can be your fulltime job?

Well it is kind of my job 😂
but what I mean is next to YOUR real job.

At an Apéro event I listened to a man detailing how he „saves“ tax.

Ensuring he stays below this amount of days in Germany.

Ensuring also to not spend money on his credit card when he was in Zurich.

Ensuring the water bill at the place in Schwyz was high enough…

Yes I am sure this guy saves tax.

And also his life is centered on it.

I am so glad to be working with successful people who value money and saving AND
value their life and happyness more.

If you love Zurich, move there. 🏠
If you like the mountains and love to spend time there. Move there.🏔️

Officially moving to Zug while actually living in Zurich can be really expensive.

Such cases keep creating new Swiss Federal Supreme Court decisions on residency.
And also: very high tax and penalty bills. And tax advisor fees.

The goal is a life without a “glass ceiling”.

Tax planning is for me part of the life plan, not the centre of it.
Because that is where your life belongs.

Swiss income tax on virtual income on your home? Yes. This is how it works in Switzerland. For now.

And you can deduct home improvement costs from this.
e.g. when you exchange the floor.
or buy a new fridge to replace the old one.
And interest from your mortgage.

But you need to be quick since starting 01.01.2029 the system will change.

So no more income tax on your home and no more or much less deductions.

Switzerland does property ownership differently.

When you own your home and live in it a virtual income gets calculated.

This adds to your taxable income.

You will pay taxes on that amount.

Why is that?

Since you live there you can not use it to generate rental income.

The virtual income is about the amount you would receive should you decide to rent it out.
