Moving and actually living in Switzerland can feel different than anticipated.
It might be that payroll seems to do your RSU vesting wrong.

For all of you wondering what the heck RSUs are:
they are a tool to keep working for your company.

You get them and they are not worth anything. Then over the years (generally three years) they vest and that means you get cash.

That is taxed and the rest goes on you bank account.

And when payroll is in the US and they just don‘t seem to get the Swiss rules and you feel like however many times you reach out nothing happens…

then having an expert by your side will help you in the actual discussions with your company.
Because you understand how it should look like now.

Yes, you probably really want to save tax.
I speak from 20 years of experience when I tell you:
Spend your time where you really want to be.

If you love Zurich, move there.🏠
If you like the mountains and love to spend time there, move there. ⛰️

Shop where you want.
Get your gas where you feel like.

Instead of making sure not to shop or get gas in Zurich or always paying cash.

Officially moving to Zug while actually living in Zurich can be really exhausting and expensive.

Such cases keep creating new Swiss Federal Court decisions on residency.

And costs. For additional taxes and penalties. And tax advisor fees to „fight“ your case.

Remember: the goal is a life without a “glass ceiling”.

Tax planning is for me part of the life plan, not the centre of it.
Because that is where your life belongs.
