Several of the common mistakes associated with fapiao accounting results in the business underpaying its taxes, which incurs fines & penalties up to 5 times the tax shortage or overpaying on its taxes due to duplicate or lost fapiaos. Serious cases of tax shortage can result in the business’s credit rating being downgraded limiting its ability to seek financing and create operational constraints.

Several common mistakes are:

1) Transactions being recorded only when being paid and fapiao issued instead of the timing when goods & services rendered.
2) Goods sold but purchase and cost of goods sold recorded only when fapiao on purchases received and paid on a later date.
3) Export and domestic revenue without the need for issuance of fapiao are not recorded
4) Timing of VAT payment might vary depending on several factors.
