**Isn’t it funny how assumptions can be such f*ck-ups? 🤦‍♀️**

We’re taught algebra, Shakespeare and how to label the parts of a plant…

But how to run a business?
How to understand tax?
What income needs declaring to HMRC?
Not a clue! 😂

Then, as adults, we’re somehow expected to know it all.

You might start renting out a unit, let out a second house or earn some extra money on the side. It may not *feel* like you’re running a business—but suddenly there are records to keep, income to declare, tax rules to understand and decisions to make about whether you operate personally, as a sole trader or through a limited company.

And HMRC’s response is basically:

**“Well… you should have known.”**

Known from where exactly?! The lesson we never had at school? 🤷‍♀️

It’s madness that we’re expected to understand the rules of real adult life without anyone properly teaching them to us.

So, let’s settle this…

**If someone rented out a second home, would you expect them to know automatically what they needed to report to HMRC—or would you assume someone would tell them?**
