Client Case Studies:
Three women. Three bereavements. Three completely different financial plans.
When someone loses their partner, they're often dealing with far more than grief...
For many, they're suddenly faced with managing finances they may never have had to think about before. 💷
Recently, I've been supporting three widows whose husbands had always looked after the household finances. Although their circumstances initially appeared similar, the financial advice each of them needed was completely different.
One client's priority was maintaining her independence, ensuring she has enough income to stay in her own home with the support she may need in later life.
Another wanted the reassurance of replacing the income her husband had provided, giving her financial security today while leaving future gifting decisions until she felt ready.
A third, much younger widow, wanted to balance investing for her own future with protecting her teenage children's inheritance through the use of trusts.
What these conversations had in common wasn't investment performance or chasing the highest returns.
It was helping each client understand their options, make informed decisions and regain confidence during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
That's what financial planning is really about.
Not finding a one-size-fits-all solution, but creating a plan that reflects your circumstances, your goals and the people who matter most 🫶
The examples above are based on real client scenarios but have been anonymised and adapted to protect client confidentiality.
If you'd like to discuss your own financial future or would simply like the reassurance of having a plan in place, I'd be happy to help.
