Jack joined the team recently as a trainee accountant from sixth form, having studied A Level 3 Business BTEC and AS Level Core Maths. He is looking forward to gaining valuable experience with the firm while he works towards achieving an ATT qualification to expand his knowledge in accounting and tax. He is a keen learner with strong attention to detail in his work. He enjoyed maths and later business studies throughout education and has family ties to accountancy.

In his free time, Jack volunteers at a local youth football club to help run training sessions and helps to officiate their matches as a linesman. He follows a variety of sports including football, golf, cricket, and darts and enjoys spending time with family.

"I started my accountancy career in 2012 after working at a high street bank as I realised that I enjoyed helping customers with their finances but wanted to do more for them.

I love helping clients gain a better understanding of their finances and accounts. Sometimes it can be a challenge working with very creative clients who are fantastic at what they do, but don’t always feel as comfortable with the numbers. I really enjoy that challenge, helping to make the figures easier to understand and giving clients the confidence to make informed decisions about their business.

In my spare time I keep my horse Max who is 21 this year fit and healthy. I have had him for 13 years and over that time we have qualified and competed at Hickstead. I also currently have another horse who is only 2 years old called Vividor, 2 goats called Nigel & Truffle, 4 sheep, a dog called Xanthia and a cat called Luna."

Don’t leave your Self Assessment until January!

January might feel like a long way off, but leaving your Self Assessment until the last minute can turn a straightforward job into a stressful scramble.

Getting organised now means you can:

✅ Find and check your income and expenses while the information is fresh
✅ Make sure you have all the records you need
✅ Identify any missing paperwork early
✅ Understand roughly what tax you may need to pay

1.Cash flow
Review your cash position, upcoming bills and expected income. If summer was quieter than usual, September is a good time to make a plan for the months ahead.

2. Bookkeeping & records
Get your bookkeeping up to date and make sure invoices, receipts and expenses have been properly recorded. It’s much easier to fix gaps now than when deadlines are approaching.

✅ P11D and P11D(b) forms due to HMRC
✅ Employees must receive details of any benefits and expenses provided

📅 22 July
✅ Deadline to pay Class 1A National Insurance electronically
✅ PAYE and NIC payments due for monthly payroll schemes

📅 31 July
✅ Second Self Assessment Payment on Account due

A great evening at our recent quiz night hosted by Handelsbanken! 🧠✨

One of the Rawlinson Pryde teams proudly secured 3rd place — not bad at all for a night of tough questions and friendly competition. 🥉👏

While our quiz knowledge was clearly on point, the same can’t quite be said for our paper plane engineering skills… let’s just say there’s room for improvement there! ✈️😅
