A fantastic day at our Sumer NI Away Day in Newry.

The day provided an opportunity to reflect on a successful year, hear business updates, learn more about the great work happening across different departments, and celebrate the growth we've achieved together.

It was also a valuable chance to strengthen connections across the business through team-building activities, collaboration and sharing ideas. We rounded off the day with an evening meal, music bingo and the opportunity to unwind and celebrate together.

Events like this are a great reminder of the strength of our people and the value of coming together to share ideas, build relationships and recognise our successes. We're proud of everything we've achieved this year and excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to grow as one team.

Congratulations to Lucas Kenny on being named our Man of the Match following Instonians home fixture against Highfield 🏉

Sumer NI was delighted to sponsor the pre-game lunch, enjoying the opportunity to connect with players, members and supporters ahead of the match.

Despite a tough result, Lucas put in an outstanding performance and was a deserving recipient of the award, selected by Brian Clerkin.

Thank You for Supporting Our Mental Health Walk

This morning, colleagues from across Sumer NI came together for our Mental Health Walk ahead of World Mental Health Day.

It was fantastic to see so many people taking time out of their morning to get some fresh air, connect with colleagues and support an important cause. Following the walk, everyone enjoyed breakfast together, with donations raised going directly to our charity partner, Tommy's .

This year's World Mental Health Day theme, "Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change," highlights the importance of ensuring people with lived experience of mental health challenges are not only heard, but are empowered to help shape the services, support and conversations that create positive change for everyone.

Yesterday, Hope Turner and Rick Jan Van der Schuit delivered a CV workshop for second-year students on the Accounting Pathways programme at Ulster University.

Students left with a first draft of their CV after working through their personal statement, education, work history, and achievements. The session also covered CV dos and don'ts, what employers look for, and the importance of creating an authentic CV that reflects individual skills and experiences rather than generic AI-generated content.

It was encouraging to see that the majority of attendees indicated they intend to pursue a training contract in the future.

A special thank you to Gillian Stirling and Ulster University for the opportunity to engage with the students and support the next generation of accounting professionals.
