Meet our 1st 2026 intern: Finan

Recently, Finan joined us here at for a 3 week internship where he gained first-hand experience working across both audit and accounts preparation.

He is currently in his 2nd year of studying Economics & Finance at Queen's University Belfast.

During his time with us, Finan was involved in a range of audit and accounts preparation work. From attending client sites and carrying out audit testing to supporting accounts preparation from trial balance through to proofing final accounts, he gained experience across a variety of engagements and worked closely with different members of the team.

His favourite part of the internship?
💬 "Getting out on client site and seeing real client communication in action."

Outside of uni, Finan recently spent time interrailing around Central Europe and already has more travel plans in the near future ✈️

It was great having Finan with us, and we wish him every success as he returns to Queen's University Belfast to continue his studies.

Say hello to Katie Magill, one of our Senior Associates, who’s been a valued part of the team for over 4 years now! 👏

Outside of work, Katie is a 2nd Dan black belt in Ju Jitsu, so it’s safe to say discipline, focus and resilience clearly don’t stop at the office door 🥋

Katie’s favourite thing about working at FG? The early finish on a Friday… which seems to be a very popular answer around here 😆

We gave the team one assignment at the … get a nice photo together and have a great evening. Safe to say they delivered ✨

Held on Friday 22nd May at Ten Square Hotel and hosted by Chartered Accountants Student Society Ireland - CASSI, events like these are a great opportunity for Chartered Accountancy students to step away from the studying, to socialise, network, and connect with peers across local firms.

A lovely evening for some of our management team at the Irish Accountancy Awards 2026 last night at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre ✨

We were proud to be shortlisted for Medium Practice of the Year, a huge achievement and a reflection of the hard work put in by the whole team here at FG.

Although we didn’t take home the award this year, we’re incredibly grateful to have been recognised alongside so many fantastic firms.

Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees 👏 and thank you to The Irish Accountancy Awards for such a brilliant evening.

Friday to finish off Mental Health Awareness Week we got some sweet treats for the team 🍩

Overall it was a super wholesome week in the FG office and a nice reminder to take a step back and appreciate the little things.

From walk & talks to coffee mornings and games the little things really do make a difference!☺️

I wonder what our next fun activity will be for the FG Team????

Rebekah Porter is an Junior Associate at Finegan Gibson and has been part of the team for 1 and a half years.

What Rebekah values most about working at FG is the collaboration and encouragement from the team, something that makes a real difference in a supportive working environment.

A fun fact about Rebekah is that she holds a degree in Fashion, proving that there is more than one route into accountancy.👜

A lovely way to kick off Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

This morning we headed to Native Coffee for a walk and coffee in the sunshine, along with some Jenga, Swingball and a fun quiz.🎾

Mental health and wellbeing is really important to us here at FG, and it was great to take some time out together, enjoy the sun and have a laugh away from the day-to-day.

Thanks to Native for all the gorgeous drinks the team really enjoyed!☕

Say hello to James McCann, one of our Senior Associates and a key part of the FG team for the past 3 years.

When he is not busy with clients, James is our unofficial plant expert. He even led our office plant scheme last year, bringing a bit more life and fresh air into the office. 🪴

Ask James what he enjoys most about FG, and he will not hesitate: The people ☺️...... And we would have to agree!

Luke is our Private Client Coordinator and has been part of the Finegan Gibson team for 6 years.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys running, cooking, eating, watching sport and playing both guitar and piano. A man of many talents.

His favourite thing about working at FG? The good mix of colleagues and, importantly, their birthday buns. Some perks cannot be ignored.🎂
