Yesterday some of the FG team attended the CO3 Chief Officers 3rd Sector 2026 Summit at La Mon Hotel & Country Club

It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with many of our current clients, meet new organisations and highlight the range of services we offer at FG to support voluntary and third-sector organisations.

The event was very well organised and provided valuable insights into a range of topics, including the future role of funders and the ethical use of AI, alongside the opportunity to hear about the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

It was great to connect with so many organisations and learn more about the important work they do across Northern Ireland.

Thank you to CO3 for hosting such an informative and engaging event. We look forward to continuing to support organisations across the third sector!

We are delighted to welcome 5 new faces to the FG team! 👋

Our newest team members are a great example of the variety of qualifying routes that we support our employees through to become Chartered Accountants within FG, including Belfast Metropolitan College, Ulster University and Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Conor started with us in the Outsourcing department in July, working closely with the team to provide valuable support to our clients. He is now working towards his CAP 2 exams with .

Caitlin joined the FG Tax team at the beginning of September and will be beginning her professional journey through Belfast Met, ATI, she is working within the Tax team and will gain experience across business and personal taxation, supporting with tax returns and much more.

Sam began his accounting career with us in August, also within the Tax Team, as a school leaver. He has now begun his first year at , through the Accounting with management Degree apprenticeship.

Drew will be joining , to complete his ATI exams. He will be working within our Audit team, gaining experience across a range of clients and tasks with a focus on both charity and commercial audits.

Callum joins us as a graduate of Ulster University and is now continuing his professional journey by completing his exams through Chartered Accountants Ireland. He will be working within our Audit team, gaining valuable experience across a range of clients.

We’re delighted to have all five of them as part of the FG team and look forward to supporting them as they continue their professional journeys!

A big thank you to Methodist College Belfast for having us at their biannual Careers Fair yesterday!

It was a great opportunity to speak with Year 12–14 students and parents about the different routes into a career in accounting and what each entails.

The interest was phenomenal, and we definitely noticed a particular interest in the Degree Apprenticeship route we offer in partnership with Ulster University🎓

We wish all the students the very best with their studies and future career plans, and we hope to see some of you again in the near future! 😁

Meet our 1st 2026 intern: Finan

Recently, Finan joined us here at for a 3 week internship where he gained first-hand experience working across both audit and accounts preparation.

He is currently in his 2nd year of studying Economics & Finance at Queen's University Belfast.

During his time with us, Finan was involved in a range of audit and accounts preparation work. From attending client sites and carrying out audit testing to supporting accounts preparation from trial balance through to proofing final accounts, he gained experience across a variety of engagements and worked closely with different members of the team.

His favourite part of the internship?
💬 "Getting out on client site and seeing real client communication in action."

Outside of uni, Finan recently spent time interrailing around Central Europe and already has more travel plans in the near future ✈️

It was great having Finan with us, and we wish him every success as he returns to Queen's University Belfast to continue his studies.

Outside of work, Katie is a 2nd Dan black belt in Ju Jitsu, so it’s safe to say discipline, focus and resilience clearly don’t stop at the office door 🥋

Katie’s favourite thing about working at FG? The early finish on a Friday… which seems to be a very popular answer around here 😆

Held on Friday 22nd May at Ten Square Hotel and hosted by Chartered Accountants Student Society Ireland - CASSI, events like these are a great opportunity for Chartered Accountancy students to step away from the studying, to socialise, network, and connect with peers across local firms.

A lovely evening for some of our management team at the Irish Accountancy Awards 2026 last night at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre ✨

We were proud to be shortlisted for Medium Practice of the Year, a huge achievement and a reflection of the hard work put in by the whole team here at FG.

Although we didn’t take home the award this year, we’re incredibly grateful to have been recognised alongside so many fantastic firms.

Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees 👏 and thank you to The Irish Accountancy Awards for such a brilliant evening.

Friday to finish off Mental Health Awareness Week we got some sweet treats for the team 🍩

Overall it was a super wholesome week in the FG office and a nice reminder to take a step back and appreciate the little things.

From walk & talks to coffee mornings and games the little things really do make a difference!☺️

I wonder what our next fun activity will be for the FG Team????
