Border Union Agricultural Show – Friday 24 & Saturday 25 July

The Border Union, Kelso Show is one of the key weekends in the agricultural calendar for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. A traditional farming show featuring livestock parades, competitions, and industrial arts, but it also has around 200 trade stands, a great food fair, a craft tent and a children’s fun fair.

We are looking forward to catching up with many of our clients, friends and family over the two days. Refreshments will be available over both days, with hot roast rolls served on the Friday.

You'll find us in Block 1, near the cattle rings.

Rotation Underway?

📍Stock markets (MSCI World Index) have gained 11% year-to-date.
📍Bond markets (Bloomberg Global Aggregate Index) remain flat for the year.

Stocks have continued to move higher, but not in a uniform way. The gap between winning and losing markets, sectors and individual stocks has been larger than usual this year.

The sun was shining and it certainly brought out the crowds.

Alongside our friends and co-hosts, Turcan Connell, we welcomed clients, friends & family.
Warm conversation, delicious hog roast rolls and refreshments were enjoyed by all.

The government has announced a temporary reduction in VAT from 20% to 5% on certain supplies for summer 2026. This measure is designed to help reduce costs for families during the school holidays and encourage spending across the leisure and hospitality sectors.

The reduced rate will apply for a limited period, from 25 June 2026 to 1 September 2026 (inclusive), and businesses in relevant sectors should carefully consider how this change affects their pricing, systems, and VAT accounting.
