As we have done for many years, we were once again pleased to support the latest Shakespeare at the Towers production of 'The Comedy of Errors', at Buckden Towers - well done to all involved in another brilliant show. SatT is a local event, that makes use of a beautiful, historic venue, and always delivers an entertaining evening for its audience.

We are really pleased to have had Poppy & Noah joining the team this week, on work experience placements.

Opening our doors to students gives us an opportunity to support local schools and generate enthusiasm for careers in accountancy, while giving students valuable insight into the world of work, the skills employers look for, and the range of opportunities available within the profession.

Before they leave us, we caught up with them to find out what they've learnt, how their experience has compared with expectations and whether their time with us has influenced what they'll do going forward...

It’s been a busy couple of months for the team, and not just at our desks. From professional development at Accountex London, to a Jurassic 'footgolf' social, and a client seminar on probate and wills at Edworth Manor, we’ve been making time for the things that help us to keep improving, stay connected and better support the people, businesses and families we work with.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising, attending and sharing their knowledge!

With the first MTD ITSA quarter complete, the focus shifts to preparing for your first quarterly submission – so, we ask, are you ready?

For many sole traders and landlords, this will put systems and processes to the test and will likely uncover common sticking points. It’s an opportunity to get comfortable and identify areas for improvement, before the next quarter gets underway. Read more in our helpful article - https://www.georgehay.co.uk/latest-news/mtd-itsa-are-you-ready-for-the-first-quarterly-submission/

If you feel a bit lost, or if you need some help to prepare, now is the time to contact us.

Unfortunately, our Biggleswade office was affected by a fire overnight.

As a result, the Biggleswade office will remain closed for the rest of this week while we assess the damage and begin the recovery process.

We would like to reassure all of our clients that no client files or important documents have been damaged. The fire has affected the office building and furniture, but your records remain safe and secure.

Our other offices remain open and operating as normal. Following earlier issues, our phone lines are now operational. Calls to our Biggleswade office are being diverted to our open sites and the team are taking messages where necessary. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience in the coming days.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service for their swift, professional, and dedicated response. Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful that no one was injured.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support during this time. We will keep you updated as further information becomes available.

This morning we are reflecting on a fantastic time had at the The Cambridgeshire County Show on Saturday, set in the grounds of the Abbots Ripton estate. Our team enjoyed a gloriously sunny day meeting and speaking to all who came to visit us.

What's more, our hook-a-duck proved a hit with winners scooping sweets, bubbles, balloons and piglet banks as prizes!!

Thank you to Strutt & Parker for late afternoon refreshments, to Glebe Farm Foods for the granola in exchange for chairs, and to the Cambridgeshire Young Farmers committee for putting on another great day!

We're looking forward to doing it all again in 2027 🤞
