One, Two. One, Two. One, Two. 🐉 🛶

Our team (helped out by a few friends and family) did their very best to 'unleash their inner dragons' out on the river at this years St Neots Dragon Boat Festival.

Spurred on by a promise of cookies and ice cream, we were desperate to break 60 seconds. Despite not quite managing it, we improved on last year's race times and retained our second from last place on the leader board.

Most importantly, we had a lot of fun altogether, with friends, parents, babies, grandparents and pets all coming along to cheer us on!

Sub-60 remains unfinished business, and we’re already looking forward to another go...

Earlier this month, our team came together for our annual staff away day at the beautiful Knebworth Barns. These days are a valuable opportunity to bring everyone together, reinforce relationships across the firm and celebrate the people who make George Hay what it is.

We’re delighted to share that our Tax Partner, Barry Jefferd, has been appointed President of the The Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT).

Barry’s appointment follows almost 40 years in taxation, including more than three decades as Tax Partner at George Hay, and reflects his longstanding commitment to the tax profession, professional education and the wider ATT community.

We’re delighted to welcome Sam Brown BFP FCA to George Hay as Audit & Accounts Director. Sam joins us with almost 20 years’ in practice, bringing valuable senior expertise to our growing team.

We are really pleased to have had Poppy & Noah joining the team this week, on work experience placements.

Opening our doors to students gives us an opportunity to support local schools and generate enthusiasm for careers in accountancy, while giving students valuable insight into the world of work, the skills employers look for, and the range of opportunities available within the profession.

Before they leave us, we caught up with them to find out what they've learnt, how their experience has compared with expectations and whether their time with us has influenced what they'll do going forward...
