I still can’t believe it - a week ago I won my first industry award, as I was named the winner of the Professional Adviser “Young Achiever of the Year” Award 2023! 🏆

I have been utterly blown away by the positive comments that I have received in the past week, and although I couldn’t attend the event in person, I still managed to have a fantastic time celebrating the win with my work family 🫶🏻

I have always wondered what makes a “winning” entry.. So if you’re reading this thinking the same thing, in terms of my achievements during the past 12 months I put a real focus on attaining Chartered Financial Planner status by passing 4 exams (2 Diploma level and 2 Advanced level, including the AF8 Retirement Income Planning coursework module), I secured 13 reviews, I delivered a number of Personal Finance Society workshops to school/college students as an Education Champion, and I supported a number of colleagues looking to progress their careers.

Today I’ve scheduled an admin day to clear some of those never-ending work tasks, and I also think it’s about time that I finally tackle my LinkedIn/social media inboxes!

My sincere apologies for any delayed responses - due to my personal circumstances (dealing with the aftermath of my parents divorce, moving houses in December last year, balancing multiple responsibilities such as work, gym, golf, and providing huge amounts of support to my sister to help plan her big fat Indian wedding which will be taking place in a few weeks), my free time has felt extremely limited/non-existent, therefore my social media inboxes have slowly accumulated over time as work has taken priority..

Trying to maintain a healthy work-life balance is key, and rest assured, I will be responding to every message over the next few days 📧📲

New year.. New page! 🎬

Welcome to my new Instagram “Jay The IFA” which stands for Independent Financial Adviser.

I’ve created this page to give an insight into what I do, to provide weekly motivation and share my knowledge with others!

When I graduated from University, I knew that I wanted to break into an industry where I had the potential to make a difference. I explored a few different roles and decided that I didn’t want to become another face behind a desk; I wanted to make a positive impact on the day-to-day lives of individuals and I quickly realised that I had the potential to use my knowledge to help those that require financial advice and guidance.

I now have over 6 years of industry experience, and my passion lies in supporting my clients to achieve their goals and ambitions in all stages of life – whether it’s your first house purchase, starting/protecting your family, investing for the future, through to managing your estate in the most tax efficient way possible and securing a comfortable retirement whatever age that may be! With a bespoke plan in place and regular reviews, we can make it happen.

My personal and professional experiences have taught me the following:

- I always put my client’s needs and objectives at the heart of what I do
- I analyse existing arrangements to ensure they are the most competitive
- I create bespoke financial plans that are realistic and efficient
- I ensure that the key areas of financial planning are regularly reviewed: mortgages, protection, investments, pensions, and inheritance tax/estate planning

My mantra for life is: work, gym and travel. I have currently travelled to 24 countries and counting.. Including a skydive over the Palm of Dubai, visiting the blue seas of Hawaii, backpacking over Bali, inter-railing through Japan and experiencing the different States of America! Travelling, new experiences and constantly learning about the world is what drives me to do better, and be better.
