INVESTORS AND SAVERS
Are you worried about filing your Self Assessment tax return?
If your total income from savings & investments is £10,000 or more in a tax year, you must register for Self Assessment and file a tax return.
This rule applies even if:
- your main job is taxed under PAYE, or
- HMRC has never asked you to file before.
The £10,000 threshold is based on your gross income from savings and investments (such as untaxed interest or dividends) before any personal allowances are taken off.
While you have your paperwork handy for 2025/26 — P60s, state pension award letters, bank/building society statements, dividend vouchers/certificates — please get in touch. I can submit your return in plenty of time and take the stress away.
Key 2025/26 Self-Assessment Dates:
- 5 October 2026: Deadline to register for Self Assessment
- 31 October 2026: Deadline for paper tax returns
- 31 January 2027: Deadline for online tax returns
- 31 January 2027: Deadline to pay any tax owed
Don’t wait until January — HMRC phone lines get extremely busy.
Let me take the burden off your shoulders, so you can focus on what matters to you.
