We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Stockport County, with Cowgills, part of the Sumer Group becoming the official sponsor of matchday social graphics across the Club’s social media channels.

For each game, you’ll see our name alongside County’s starting XI, HT score and FT result graphics – a partnership that feels particularly fitting as we continue to grow our presence in Stockport.

In April, we welcomed IN Accountancy into the Cowgills family. The Stockport-based team has been supporting businesses across the area for many years and, while they have continued to operate under the IN Accountancy name, they have been part of Cowgills since then.

From 1 October, the next stage of that journey begins as IN Accountancy officially adopts the Cowgills name. For clients, it’s the same local team, relationships and understanding of Stockport businesses, now backed by the wider expertise and resources of Cowgills.

Our partnership with Stockport County is another step in strengthening our presence in the area, becoming an active part of the local community and helping more Stockport businesses get to know our team.

We’re really looking forward to being part of matchdays throughout the season.

Here’s to a great season ahead! ⚽💙

What happens if you miss the 2026 BICS application window?

The first application window for the British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme (BICS) runs from 1 October to 30 November 2026, and missing it could be costly for eligible manufacturers.

In this Short, Sacha Hargreaves - Brown, Indirect Tax Assistant Manager at Cowgills, part of the Sumer Group, explains why businesses should pay close attention to the deadline, when they may next be able to access the scheme, and the additional payment available to eligible businesses joining in the first year.

That additional payment is designed to reflect the BICS support businesses would have received had the scheme been in place from April 2026, making the first application window particularly important.

If your manufacturing business could qualify for BICS, it’s worth assessing your eligibility well before the November deadline.
